What does TVR need (or wait)to go racing at LeMans? As a French enthusiast,I am desperately waiting for the Tivs to come kick the a*s of the bloody lorry-derived vipers!!

I would think the obvious answer to the question is a car that can run for 24 hours

Shorty would appear to have the answer to that conundrum then....trouble is cash, it's very costly...so who's got the answer to that then

Don't you need to be invited to race there too?

I met with them today. I'll have more details in a few weeks. They still haven't decided on a car, but a TVR is one of those being considered. I did try to convey how much enthusiasm there'd be for it!

I spoke to Shorty a while back and he wants to do Le Mans next year. The only problem is cash. The S6 engine did over 30 hours racing last year including the Suzuka 6 hours race. He may not finish but then again he just might.. If anyone is going to do it, it ought to be Shorty really. I wish the factory would forget the Speed Twelve and go all out with the Tuscan R to get it to Le Mans. The ball is in Peter Wheeler's court... As for getting an invite to Le Mans, I know for a fact that they want a TVR there........

That all sounds promissing. I'm sure they can find some potent sponsorship for such a prestigious race. A TVR diven by Martin Short at LM 2002 would be just too cool. Let's hope.

Racing at Le Mans would be such a great publicity for TVR, would'nt it? The demand in the US would dramatically grow as I know many Americans religiously follow THE race:Peter Wheeler can't deny it.

I think you may be closer to the truth there than you realise

TVR at LM ? Tuscan V10 ? That's getting a bit too mysterious now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - comments about the reliability of TVRs really are very boring.

Another new engine? Here's a radical idea: sort out the existing ones. Porsche doesn't start designing new engines (race or road) every couple of years, it perfects the existing motors. You'd think wheeler would learn SOMETHING from the 16 times winners... I'm not just "having a go", either.

They've got the S6 motor to the point where it'll do 6hrs, why not make that engine go all the way to 24, rather than starting from ground zero again. No common sense!

Will this get deleted? Am I that bothered?

no problems with that comment mate. It was spot on. they bloody well should concerntrate on the Tuscan R and the S6 engine. They are almost there.
Once they have done that they might just be able to sort out the S6 road engine too!!!
Constructive critiscism is fine IMO but slagging TVR for the sake of it should be binned, I don't think what you said came into that category.
