I sincerely hope that if Jensen are looking at starting up again with the name of TVR under their belt, that they hold things together slighlty better than they did in 2001

Im hoping and praying for a happy ending to this russian nightmare

Can we invite the russian out for sushi laugh

waits to be roasted on an open fire

I dont quite understand NS and his logic behind what appears to be breaking down and selling off the brand piece by piece. I'm sure there is a method to his madness though...

I hope

So NS plans to keep the TVR name for an Italian-manufactured 120,000 quid supercar and the Sagaris etc will be branded Jensens? If it means the guys get to keep their jobs I suppose I could get used to saying "I'm saving up for a Jensen Tuscan", but it might take me some time.

That is bloody wierd, i was only sat in the pub the other talking with a colleague about this, i suggested that someone should buy the rights off SV Automotive for Jensen, then build the old TVR's as Jensens, genius.

That is bizarre, i wish i'd posted that on Monday now!!! Damn it. I do hope something sorts itself out.

The cynic in me is begining to think that all this talk about Italy and Minsk was merely a ploy to gather the interest of the TVR hardcore, especially those with money who would be financially able to buy TVR out from under him...I really wouldnt be surprised if it was all constructed!

Im really starting to think that the Russian is smarter than I gave him credit for

Still a turd for whats being done to the workers though

The most important thing in all this is , particularly at this time of year , if it keeps the workers employed , it will be good news.

As a lover of both (3 Jensens, 4 TVRs) I'm not sure I can see the match.. Last time around Speke got it wrong with Jensen because they believed the Healey represented the brand rather than the Interceptor/FF.

Jensen were innovators - 1st fibre-glass production car, 1st with all wheel disk brakes, 0.39 drag coefficient (541), 1st production car with full time 4x4 and anti-lock brakes (FF). They made hi-tech beautiful trans-continental and slightly raffish Gentlemen's GT cars - not alternatives to MG (or latterly TVR).

If this rumour is true, let's hope that they both keep the TVR brand name so they can make TVRs and demonstrate a greater empathy with its brand values.

Agreed about the "Gentleman's tourer" tag for Jensen, almost an alternative to Bristol yet I can see a cross over with TVR's pedigree, fast innovative (the 3000M Turbo was the first Turbo road car) and with big powerful engines. I could see a line of Jensen/TVRs stretching from a light 2 seater sports (T350/Tamora type) through to a grand tourer Interceptor. yes

So could I, point was losing the TVR brand but trying to sell Tamora/Tuscan/Sagaris as Jensens is what doesn't quite click.

Hopefully, if any deal is to go ahead, the said company/companies will endevour to retain the TVR name also!

It would be excellent to see Jensen and TVR working together, one side makes the loony mobiles (still under the TVR banner) and the other makes big, indecently fast GT cars

Either way, I think if this deal goes through, we might see a return to classic V8 engines to TVR...as long as they're not overly muted like most productions V8s these days

Yeah but.........

Has anything that the dynamic NS/DO partnership done recently clicked?

If they are seriously going to abandon all current models then... thats great! If they still get to be made at Blackpool? And NS and co go chasing the supercar market which they have no chance of competing in. This is so confusing...............

To me the prsopect of these idiots trying to sell £120k TVRs is like VW selling loads of Phaetons. (Tell me they haven't ffs )
