Wow, and thanks to all of you.
Just consider what you have done IN JUST 20 DAYS!!

I am just catching my breath, so will come back with a more complete update in a couple of days, but some relevant stuff:

Sadly, the mechanical clicker counter used by our GWR official counter malfunctioned, showing 3513 cars!

Fortunately we had the good services of John Swift of Streetlife TV recording the departure from the Ace cafe.

Sadly, not everyone got to the Ace, so didn't pass his camera.

Fortunately 479 cars did shout FANTASTIC TURNOUT EVERYONE.
We will be sending the "evidence" of to Guinness World Records in a couple of days, and i will keep you posted on progress.

www.londonthunder.com will be updated in a couple of days to allow us to post all of the photos and videos in one place.

The surplus of donations, sticker money, the auction and potential profits from the shirts could be quite substantial (even after paying for the coach and bar bill for the workers). We have asked Mrs Ntel to act as a formal treasurer, and having kindly accepted, she will be opening up a London Thunder Bank account, and will manage the funds as we decide how best to use them. BUT, we assure you that all funds will go directly to the workers in one form or other - not to a charity. Your suggestions will be requested, but please don't post them here yet

There are a couple of other "merchandise" opportunities we are exploring, to generate aadditional funds, which will be posted here and on www.londonthunder.com in due course.

Congratulations to all
Cheers
David

Our pleasure, - Oh Great One! bow - Do NOT think you didn't make it happen nono - 'cos you did - with 'a little help from your fiends'!!thumbup
Fantastic Day - most cars got to Whitehall, but had to 'keep on runnin' - Trafalgar Square was Magical Chaos! I can confirm that Piccadilly has the most fabulous acoustics when 15+ Tivs ( I could only count 15 from the lane I was in) all rev up at the same time.
Reliability: 99.93% biglaugh 479 CARS! From all over the Country! - I only saw 3 road-siders (and spoke with 2 of them) - 1x clutch (can happen anytime to any car) at bottom of Park Lane and 1x overheat(was that Amazon?)in Trafalgar Square. The next time anyone says to me that TVRs are unreliable - I'll tell 'em to go drive their particular sanitized go-kart around London Central (preferably with 478 of their sanitised mates) for 3+ hours, on a very busy Sunday p.m. and see how they get on!!
Proof-positive TVRs reign supreme!!
Great Day Mate!thumbup

We made it there, mostly around and home. Red 4.2 cerbera. I was amazed how many Cerberas were there. I'd hardly seen any others before yesterday

Just an observation but, as one of the convoy that stuck to the meeting at London Gateway at 11.20 on the M1 brigade, I can tell you that we were among the group being diverted to the left of the ACE Cafe by the time we got there. At the time the lead cars were parading up and down Whitehall there were still hundreds of Tivs still queueing to get out from the crossroads to go through the lights over the North Circular at the Ace Cafe.

I'm guessing that there was a huge gap between what turned out to be two convoys and that the counting had stopped some time before the second got going.

Awesome show of faith - glad to have been there and ready to go again whwnever required.

Yes,I know what you mean - we were parked to the left as well!

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day but, having seen the Whitehall pics on here,I'm kicking myself that we missed out on it all due to the traffic encountered by our convoy

Looking at the video clips of the first convoy driving down Park Lane, you can't recognise it from the 'carpark' we had to endure!!

We still drove down Whitehall but,at 4.30pm,it didn't quite have the same atmosphere!!
Hindsight and all that,we should have gone straight there banghead

Fantastic day all the same though!!
Bigthumbupto all the organisers on a superb job bow

Yes me, Pasco, and Leetvr were also parked up to the left
It must have been a hour before we got moving since the guys at the Ace started up.
Never mind both our cars made it in the end and took us home safe and sound three hundred mile round trip.yes
