One thing i wanted to share with everyone..

Sitting in the TVR 'carpark' in central london i noticed a good few expensive other cars.. 56 plate Aston DB9, Porsche 911 & Boxter etc and one thing struck me... Nobody noticed.. The only cars that all the tourists wanted to take pictures of were the TVR's..

Just made me think just how much of an impact these cars from Blackpool make..

And the other thing that struck me at the Ace Café was, what other car manufacturer could cause an event like this? and such a huge passionate response from the owners? Considering im a TVR owner i was still pretty stunned by how many of us braved the weather to make a statement of support..

late evening ramble over..

cheers,

Nick

the thing is, in that part of london, practically every other car is a exotic/prestige marquee, today while on the sidelines waiting for the parade to come down park lane i counted no less than 6 lambos, 3 ferraris and god knows how many aston/RRs/Bentley/Merc stretchs. Then all hell breaks loose with the TVRs and my boyish instinct makes me want to jump up and down.

The GT40 that was on the prowl managed to get some of my attention as it zoomed off out of the paliment square though. boxedin

Saw two Merc McLarens. Nice.

Maybe I'm biased, but the TVRs stirred the soul whereas those two, well, didn't.....

I drive my V8S a lot in the West End & often get appreciative looks & smiles. It ain't posh, its loud 'n' raw........ The concierges at the big hotels usually give a crafty ( in freemason type way) nod & grin when they are helping Mr & Mrs Muck into their Stuttgart barges.

Piccadilly today was fantastic. The rumble AND the tourists........

For the first time in 1.5 years I felt very ordinary in my Chim on Sunday. Never have so many people pointed, looked ooheed and ahhed at the Sagaris in front, the tuscan behind..the T350 behind him...me ? I was the invisble man. Couldnt even compete on Decibels *sigh*

But there is an upside..my Mrs spent the day listening to other noisier Tivs with Ohhs and Ahhs (apparently one or two sounded pantwettingly good). So now I can go out and have the cherry bombs fitted. Yey !

I had a very different experience in my Chim - I was photo'd and video'd relentlessly all the way up Piccidilly and through Trafalgar Square. I even had a Japanese gentleman caressing and stroking my bonnet, FFS!

But - I do agree with you on the noise. Need those Cherry bombs!!!
