Just to let you all know, yes i have your orders and am working like a madman today to catch up, but THEY will all go to the embroiders in time (provided you gave me all the right info)

If it wasn't bad enough being clamped for parking in my own parking space - I went to recon the Thurrock Service Area to ensure it's suitability for my Essex convoy, got stuck in a massive traffic jam on the A13 and have now found out that a TVR with ALL the electrics running (which I admit includes the stereo) does not produce enough electricity at tickover as I then spent "rather a few" hours on the roadside BROKEN DOWN due to a flat battery after I stopped the engine for 5 mins due to nothing moving.

My thanks to the Richard (the RAC man with a flatbed truck who took me to thurrock services - for free I might add) and then the security guard there who got his mate with jump leads out to get me going again.

What a bloody nightmare. At least it wasn't raining.

Sounds like you had also better check your fuel lines and injectors are secure in the engine bay and that the exhaust is not touching anything.. as bad luck comes in three's..

A cerb will run with all the bits on, no probs.

Mine does one mile to work & back every day, so I should know.

They do tend to get through batteries every two/three years though.

Battery, 100A fuse, alternator in that order for your problem

Good luck

Ben, sorry to hear that.

Thurrock services are fine for the convoy meet, we've had plenty a meet up there for various events, whoever gets there first will hopefully find somewhere suitable to park, not too near the building though and everyone will see them and follow.

If you need a hand with anything let me know, I'm more than willing to help, and we're local too.

The A13 is a nightmare at the mo, we were there yesterday trying to get to costco, and ended up turning around and going home, it was at a standstill.

good luck

Ah the famous xmas traffic!
Sorry to hear about that ben.

I used to use the A13 every day for work, and when i was on late shift on the way home it used to take me forever, because of people going to do their xmas shopping. Crazy.

I had this same problem with an Alfa 164.
Motorway jam at night - eventually turned off the engine as nothing moving.
Wouldn't restart - flat battery.

Luckily, GF pushing onto hard-shoulder gained enough speed because of steep camber to attempt a bump start - it worked! GF was a tiny lightweight and that bump start was the worlds luckiest

Ever since then I've switched to side-lights as soon as the motorway traffic grinds to a halt.
