TVR dealer to cease trading

Caused by TVR's uncertain future

RIP Gatwick TVR
RIP Gatwick TVR
Gatwick TVR, an approved main dealer for the marque, has ceased trading.

The company, based near London's second airport, has issued this announcement:

It is with great regret that we have to announce, as of 4.00 pm on Monday 6 November 2006, Classic Vehicle Services Ltd t/a Gatwick TVR went into administration.

This decision was not taken lightly and is based on careful analysis of our core business over the past two years.

It has always been our aim to remain a solus one marque dealership, providing a second to none service to you our customers.

We feel that every effort has been made to achieve this goal, however based on recent events and the current economic climate we do not see our business as viable at present.

We wish TVR good luck with their future plans and trust that you will find the help and support that you need from the existing TVR Dealer network.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this will cause and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your past business and support over the years.

PistonHeads wishes all staff and directors the very best for the future. With the future of TVR uncertain, this is -- sadly -- unlikely to be the last such announcement.

A great shame indeed. They got me out of a muddle the same day when my coil pack went and I was 200 miles from home.

Great shame and a very good dealership from first hand experience. But I'm not too surprised that they were unable to continue given the state of affairs at blackpool. I wish Paul, Sue, Steve and everyone else there the very best and every success in their future ventures.

I wish them well in whatever they decide to do in the future, a great shame, but given that there doesnt seem to be any new cars for some time, I fear the worst for the other dealers! I really hope I am wrong.

Another very sad announcement.

They were indeed a class outfit (if a little expensive IMHO..)

Good luck to all the guys who worked there - hope you find work that suites you all soon.

Will they be the first of many TVR dealers to fold or relinquish their dealerships. Tough times ahead

Another example of the Domino effect! I never used Gatwick, but I know a lot of people did and spoke very highly of the service they received. Good luck to the people who will have lost jobs etc.
I fear that this will not be the first instance of dealers closing and employees out of work, perhaps the only dealers who stand a chance are those with more than one marque to sell, as sales for the other marques may keep them afloat until the "new" TVRs come back on stream.

Well yes I am aware of the current situation at TVR, but I thought Gatwick TVR was one of there Premier Dealerships I expected the smaller dealers to go under first.

Bought my T350 from them earlier this year

Service from them has been very good - even right up to the end, as my car had been in with them for an engine-out job and I only collected it from them last Tuesday. Will be sad to see them go, but Paul confirmed it over the phone yesterday

Got my car from them last year - found them to be most excellent.

Shame their good efforts have been let down by the actions of others

Terrible news weeping

They were my local dealer - had my Griff serviced there, bought my Tuscan from them & they've serviced it since - & always had fantastic service.

Given the current state of TVR affairs I can't say I'm surprised, but it's a crying shame that they've gone.

All the best to all concerned for the future.

Buggeration. Always good cracking service there (even couriered a new spider to Spain for me while on holiday this year!) and thought the service work would be enough to keep them going - always seemed to have a full order book!

All the best to the team there.
