Has anyone come up with or have any suggestions of where we can meet for a post-rally drink?

I'm certainly after a beer after the event.

I think it was mentioned that the ace café may be a little small but in the update #1 thread SimBad-assmf said the following:

If it helps I may know of a venue that could cater for everyone and their cars after the rally. Its a licensed establishment very close to the M25, north London. No names as I havn't approached the management yet.I'll make some enqs if thats OK and get back to you as soon as I know one way or another.

Hopefully Simbad will come back with some good news. Are there any other suggestions we can use for Plan B?

Brands hatch car park? I reckon Jonathan Palmer would like to be involved and it's good publicity for Brands. It is a little way out of town though. Alternatively, isn't there a big pub in twickenham where rugby folk go before a big match?

This is looking good! I always like the idea of a beer after a good days campaigning

Would anyone like to contact said organisations and see what can be arranged? I'm happy enough to give them a ring at some point you'd like?

That is a fantastic idea, why do I never come up with things like that?!
I'd think Brands would be good. If it can be done.

Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey is where they film top gear.... it's less than an hour from London. Then again I know the northern supporters will have driven the furthest so it's only fair the beer is on their way home I reckon. So Bedford Autodrome or even Silverstone might be spot on. There's certainly the room. But an airfield nearer London might be better.

All I hope is that we manage to get 250 TVRs to drive down through Hyde park. What a sight that would be! It would be like a dream come true. A world where everyone drives a TVR!

Some great ideas here guys. thumbup

We could really do with some help on this part of the organisation. Anyone up to taking responsibility for this and running with it? Could probably do with a small team of two or three who might need to go and sample the beers available?

Any takers?

Bedford Autodrome sounds a good idea - it offers easy access to the A1 and M1 for the people who have had to travel from the North and is on their way home. Maybe there should be two? One south of London and another North? scratchchin

Jfyi - Bedford not an option - closed on Sundays because of noise laws and no alcohol on premises. However, Brands Hatch serious option because already racing going on AND they are allowed to serve alcohol.

Have just spoken to Alex at Brands Hatch - they would be delighted to see us all there. They have licensed bar, catering etc. They have a Track Day going on that day (only one TVR on the list! ). He suggested that if the timings worked, that we might like to get all the cars on the circuit for a parade lap! clap However, very much a timing thing because it would have to be whilst the Track Day customers were lunching!

They obviously have plenty of space for parking etc. and it is secure. For anyone who doesn't know the whereabouts - they are just off junction 2/3 M25, near the Dartford Tunnel.

What does anyone think?

Only problem with these suggestions is that they are sufficiently far out of town in each direction that you will definitely lose quite a few people who are prepared to give a couple of hours but not a whole day to the cause.

Occupying all lanes down the Mall would be good but I'm at a loss as to a big central car park and drinking establishment, unless someone can suggest one of the megastores (is there something more central than the IKEA complex?). Excel I suppose, but it's a bit orientally located.
