Recently traded up from a Chimaera to a Cerbera. When I had the Chimaera every Chimaera I used to meet on the roads flashed or waved. This doesn't happen anymore. Is there an unwritten rule that Chimaeras dont acknowledge Cerberas? I haven't met another Cerbera yet - so I don't know what wiill happen when I do. I try to flash my lights - but, unless I'm going in a straight line, the button is never where it should be - and by the time I've found it it's too late. Whaddya reckon?

I waved to a Cerbie from my Chim this very evening. Given that we were both in the City on the w/end I believe the driver of nearly any car deserves sympathy.

There are four buttons on the Cerbie steering wheel - one for the horn, one for the main beam.flasher, one for the windscreen washers and one for the windscreen wipers. Because they are on the steering wheel, if it is not pointing dead ahead, the buttons can be anywhere.

I think it is quite dangerous cos when you want to sound the horn quickly, you have to search for it. Same with the flashers. I , too would think twice about flashing a pink one - butI'm titanium silver (which is kinda grey).

Maybe if I spent less time searching for buttons Iwould notice people waving.....

I have exchanged 'hand signals' with many other TVR drivers in the year or so that I have had my Cerbie, Cerbie owners included. Makes me proud to own the beast...... Keep looking out for a bright yellow one!

I always thought it was all Tiv owners to all Tiv owners....

So if some bloke in a Porsche waves at you it might be me in my other car....!

I always used to acknowledge other TVRs with a wave of the hand. However in my previous Tuscan many didn't wave back - now I know why, the colour obviously made them feel

What, wave at one of those new fangled Tuscan things? They're just driven by a new breed of poseurs not real TVR enthusiasts aren't they?

Funny you should say that. I went to Zolder in 94 with my (then) new Griff - I remember the die-hard 400SE drivers saying a similar thing about the Chimp drivers (although they did say the Griff drivers were "OK").

I guess those types will be saying the same about Tamora owners within a few months (not me of course, I don't like confrontation ).

Pah... those new fangled Griffs aren't real TVRs...

I was at a Surrey TVRCC meeting once where a guy was given the cold shoulder for turning up in a Cerbera. Lots of mutterings about it "not being a proper TVR" ! Some people!

I think waving to any TVR should be encouraged, I see so few of them around here (Portsmouth area).
In fact driving a Good 'ol British Beast I believe we should wave to any other driving a British sportscar of any make. Trouble is waving to anyone else in a lesser car I feel they may think I was taking the P1ss.
When it comes to Jap/German things I tend to drop it a gear and rumble past smirking, does this make me a bad man?

Isn't it traditional to wave toolboxes?

I drive a vixen, and its great when I get a wave/flashed at by other TVR drivers what ever the breed. Although I am always a little nervous that they are flashing 'cause something is falling off!

The only problem is a few of the guys don't know that my vixen is a TVR.... Argh well, soon to be a Cerb!!!

I always find it hard to wave with my toolbox in my Griff. The seat is so low you see....

Well, if you won't flash at a pink one (and why not??), I suppose it follows that your toolbox will stay out of sight...

Don't be surprised if the old driver of a "D" reg red Celica waves at you, it's only old me in the equally old workhorse instead of the Rosso Pearl "FJC 10"

Mine is Pink! Griffith, that is... (see www.pistonheads.com/tvr/griffith/zertec.htm) although it does not look very pink in the pictures... and I wave any TVR, and usually get a wave back. I think there is something nicely ironic about having a griff in a nice girly colour!
