Had a play with this last night on a mate's PS2. What a larf As I was zig-zagging my way around the first circuit (this is why joysticks will never catch on...) I noticed that the car in front was a Griff 500! Yay! Very well modelled too, down to the hood struts and the ally A-frame on the doors. A deeper poke into the game revealed lots of accurate stats about all the cars too. The bit I liked best, was the text for the Griff where they say "a limited slip diff is fitted to divide wheelspin evenly between the rear wheels". Never a truer word spoken! None of this bollocks about "an aid to traction" or somesuch nonsense. Top marks.

Tis very good. I've recently bought the PS2 GT3 pack. As Marshy says, nice accurate models of the Griff, Tuscan and Cerby sp12. What no Chimps' I cried!! Only bugger is that you have to be good in order to be able to purchase and race high end cars (AM's Tivs etc). Some late nights are ahead of me... Steve

What have I let myself in for? Only spent a couple of hours on GT3 so far - have a mean 202bhp lightweight Yaris with racing suspension and tyres - won the Yaris cup, great prize, a pink Yaris.

Well, it did rain most of the weekend!

I've had the PS2/GT3 pack for a few months.

Naturally I went for the Griff as soon as I could, and have now managed to 'win' a Speed 12 (you have to buy a Tuscan Sp 6 & complete the 'all Tuscan' event).

Only two niggles I have are that on replaying any Griff races (correct me anyone if I'm mistaken) the car soundtrack is Tuscan Speed 6. Other thing which is currently driving me insane is the amount of understeer in the Sp 12.

If anyone knows ride height, damper & camber settings to make the Speed 12 more enjoyable, please put me out of my misery & post a reply!!

Yes, its true, I'm afraid. There are far less cars in GT3 and you can't buy the "racing body" any more (with its welcome addition of adjustable downforce front & back). I guess they didn't want to have to provide 2 models for each car.

If you want a Chimaera, then GT2 has one and the game should be fairly cheap to buy now that GT3 is out.

Marcus - on your understeer, presume you've tried dropping the front ride height and raising the rear?

I'd also say that to improve your enjoyment of the game you should get the GT-Force force-feedback wheel and pedals. It's well worth the rather pricey 99 quid or so. It certainly wriggles around like the cars do on anything other than a billiard smooth track!

Andrew

There is a slight differential between fron & rear - may try increasing though. Thanks for the advice.

Any further help gratefully received!

Anyone know why some races have tyre wear and some don't?
I struggle in the ones that do, the tyres go from Green to yellow then red in no time, 3 laps.
It wasn't that bad in GT2

Mags,

On the longer races, further up the difficulty levels, most seem to have tyre wear.

Basically if you have softer tyres you'll get more grip, but they'll go off quicker & vice versa with harder compounds.

I've been using medium-hard grades on the Speed 12, and trying to pit once in a 15 lap race, between laps 7 to 9. Seems to work generally, though again, I'm open to advice.
