..as suspected, the blower knob fell off
this morning or rather twisted off due to the poor adhesive pad thats supplied...oh dear...and..I ordered one of them carbon engine badges and the engraving was rather crap...ohh dear dear..and last but not least the brake pedals I ordered had tig welding strike marks dotted about them...ohhh dear dear dear....
I have all the Leven aluminium interior bits. I have had no problems with the blower knob or anythine else. Being local to Leven I have purchased their kit direct from their premises. I was given the chance to buy their 'seconds' although I could not see what was wrong with the product until they pointed it out to me, the imperfections being miniscule and of no real consquence. IMO their quality control is top class and have nothing but praise for thier services and products and belive them to be superior to their rivals.
Leven Technology operates like any other business and as such keeps normal Monday to Friday hours. However we do take customer services seriously and have an answer phone and mobile phone number available outside of these hours neither of which was contacted last weekend.
It is very unreasonable to start broadcasting on the internet or anywhere else when we have not had the opportunity to resolve any problems direct. However as the issues have been raised and we have no reply details it is fair in this instance to post a response.
Blower knobs. We have sold hundreds since they were introduced in 1998 and very few owners have experienced any problems. If the adhesive pad fails it is usually due to the knob not be cleaned prior to fitting or a very tight switch, both of which we can advise on the solution.
Carbon fibre engine badges. Were discontinued 18 months ago. It was a low cost item (£10 inc adhesive, VAT & Delivery) that had many satisfied customers.
Pedals. This is the first comment on quality and 100’s have been sold. An International renowned company established in 1863 manufactures them under an ISO 9002 quality system. When they are not producing products for us they manufacture surgical implants and instruments and hence the quality speaks for itself.
Finally, if any of our customers are dissatisfied with the products or service we provide for any reason we operate a ‘no questions asked’ full refund (in cash) policy.
Try talking to us.

I've got both the Leven Hood and the aluminium stalks / knobs / etc. and I've nothing but praise for the quality of the products.
Also, the guys on the other end of the phone were very friendly and helpful when I ordered and the products arrived very promptly.
As an aside to the original poster - its totally unreasonable & out-of-order to post badwill messages about a company on a public forum the same day you tried to contact them, especially on a weekend / outside office hours.
You'd deserve everything you got if Leven sued you for defamation and libel/slander as you gave them no timne to respond before going public.

No complaints from me on Leven shiny bits. Was surprised when I got a hacksaw for the indicator stalks but once fitted, very pleased.
How about a glossy Christmas catalogue so my wife and kids know what to buy me this year? I could leave it lying around for inspiration!
I'm considering getting the stalks, etc for mine. I'm slighly concerned that you mentioned the use of a hacksaw, what exactly needs doing to fit the stalks?
And while we're on the subject, can anyone tell me if the rubbery flexi bits at the column end of the original stalks go when you fit the leven ones. The reason why I ask is that mine are really grotty.

The stalks (and complete steering column kit) are very easy to fit and come with comprehensive instructions and all the necessary tools hence the junior hacksaw blade. The instructions assume that you know nothing and are written for the non-engineer.
The whole job should take about 20 minutes and there is no need to dismantle any of the steering column shroud.
The rubber gators will need to be retained or replaced if they are damaged. The aluminium stalks are designed to fit the gators to give a complete professional appearance.
If any one needs further information on fitting please telephone Leven Technology on 01633-484844 as a quick chat is better than pages of text.

C'mon people, Tractorboy has every right to gripe if not happy with service. More power to the consumer!!
Having said that my Leven bits (handbrake and Griff dash buttons) have been fine except for a bit of vibration resonance from the handbrake button initially (now seems ok) and a slight mark on one of the buttons. Top marks to Leven for responding to Tractorboy's post, if more consumers complained publicly and more suppliers demonstrated this speedy response the world would be a (slightly) better place!
P.S. Am saving up for the column stalks!

It was a curious posting though considering that Leven haven't made the badges he talks about for over two years. It's all very well complaining in public, but before putting things in writing it's important to
1) Get your facts right
2) Give the supplier an opportunity to correct a fault
Some months ago another thread in a similar vein was quoted in a legal wrangle in which a supplier claimed the poster was attempting to defame his reputation.
I urge posters to think very carefully about comments made here (and on the internet in general). The net is no longer an anonymous free-for-all. I don't want to have to censor this forum for fear of legal hassles so please think before you post.
