With winter approaching, and the disastrous announcement of TVR shutting down UK ops and no foreign production in sight, have the dealers started dropping their prices yet? Surely the prospect of no factory backing has to affect prices negatively?

Do PHers think that Sagaris/Tuscan II prices will be affected most, or will it be the previous Tamora/T350 models? Or the Cerbera/Tuscan Mk I?

Genuinely curious about everyone's thoughts on what the residuals are going to be.

Ted, Is it possible to have a doom and gloom section where all of the half empty glass people can go and let off steam?

Wanna new TVR?

Tough shit, there aren't any.

Good news for the residuals of all genuine (UK made) TVR's I would say.

Right I'm off to Chicago where I won't hear a word about TVR's, Russians, relocations or any other depressing stuff for a few days. thumbup

I would love to hold on to my motor, but I need to inject some cash into my business. If all goes well I may not have to sell, but for once I have had to put my sensible hat on.

Pretty much snap for me. I have to say though, it isnt like Ive been trying too hard to sell my car for the last month or so anyway Ive got a viable excuse to the fiancee for the car not being sold now hehe So it looks like I will just have to rein in some other spending, suck it up for a few months, tone the lifestyle down a little, use some other capital for the business and keep the Sagaris. Damn, shame eh?

Perhaps it came out wrong, but I was merely asking if the prices would go down in PHers' opinions, I was not asserting that they would (although it does seem like it to me for the reasons mentioned).

I think prices might remain boyant, for all us entusiast out there are we really going to sell our cars??? We might have a situation where the market dries up as like minded souls keep their car. The V8 boys are well catered for when it comes to servicing and the speed 6 options are getting better by the day....so need to panic.

I must admit if the prices fall I'll be totally gutted, reason???

....well I'll be forced into keeping the current Tiv for such a long time and so have the hardship of owning such a characterful and unbelievably beautiful looking/sounding car for many years to come, damn I might even pick myself up a 2nd of these bargain price Tiv's just to relieve myself from the depression

Normal human emotional reaction would suggest an initial doom and gloom then moving onto more rational stability - so an initial dip and then gradual stable increase and maybe sustained rises as perceptions of classicness increase year on year As has already been mentioned the TVR RV8 world is quite self contained, the SP6 world should do the same as there as upgrades appearing to keep existing owners content and not be bothered about new models.

There was a news article this morning on the radio on how a Liberal London council will charge parking based on gas guzzling or something like that. Made me hope that these types of measures will only relate to new cars, so older cars that have not been over regulated by Brussels, are UK made, look good, go well and have decent engines - aren't affected

My dad's Jensen Interceptor is now worth three times more than the new price after they went bust.

And my new Rover never arrived for less that a fiver like everyone predicted.

So I think my chances of snapping a flock of Sagari for less than a tenner are somewhat slim.

I didn't wake up on Monday morning & think "Right, lets see if the local dealer will swap me a bag of crisps for the Cerb", and I'm guessing that not to many other Tiv owners have either.

Pah, I say, pah!...and the beauty of all this is that I dont even have to *try* and sell this one to Sarah, she just accepts it! Sometimes I even allow myself a little giggle of evil pleasure

I just feel that the saggy prices and tuscan 2 coupe and convert (s) will level out as not many (british) ones were made, you only have to look at the marcos mantis, not many made before they went pop and still command vast monies.
