My imperial blue Griff had a front end respray about 8 months ago and has picked up a few obvious (to me) stone chips- one particularly deep one after a superb Ride-Drive day!

It has to go in to David Batty for a few bits and I was thinking of getting chipsaway or similiar to sort these out.

My question - is the finish really that good or should I just accept them and orgnaise another paint job in a year or so time when there are another chips to make it worth doing?

Worked for me!

I grazed the front corner of my Griff when i moved to a new house, about the size of a packet of cigarettes, down to the fiberglass.

I supplied the paint, and for £75 iirc, he brought it back to new and cleared up the major chips.

judge Hi Paul, As you can see from my profile I'm a Chipsaway franchisee. Stone chips can not be repaired 100%, the area can be sprayed with an air brush and the over spray taken off leaving paint in the chips. If the chip is filled with paint then as the over spray is taken off it will remove the paint from the chip.
The only sure way to remove the stone chips from your bonnet is to flat it back and fully respray it... Probably not what you wanted to hear but an honest answer... Scuffed bumpers - thats a differant story, as long as the manufacturer has released the paint formula, then the repair can be carried out fully leaving it looking as it should.

thanks everyone

I guess a small amount of money to get a cosmetically good job - as opposed to large amount of money for excellent job - will probably be acceptable for now

judge I have just had a look on the Dupont Colour Quick CDROM and I'm sorry to say your colour is one of the paint formulas that TVR have not released. If it makes you feel any better I have a Starmist Blue Chimaera and i'm in the same position as yourself.

Honestfreddie, I was following a lorry which threw up a stone that struck the roof of my 5 series touring a glancing blow. There's no dent, but a nasty bare to metal scuff. Is this something your bretheren could help with?
I imagine the cost of a full roof respray would be punitive

Freddie - have you tried these guys: https://buyat.ppg.com/colorweb/nexa/
They certainly have my Starfire Mica Blue (3 variations.....) and I'm sure I saw Starmist listed. May even have Halcyon Midas but if it hasn't been released, maybe not.

Honestfreddie,

As you're local to me (I'm near Ringwood) be I'd be interested to see if you could do anything for the nose of my Tamora. 12000 miles and it's got bad stone-induced acne!

Don't know if it's too far gone for your help, but I'm not in a situation to get a nose respray just yet (yep - skint as 12k service next week. Gulp.)

If you don't reply on this thread, I'll take the lib of dropping you a PM.

PS DO you know Paul Roff, the Dentz man? Top bloke.
