Hello, just buying a Chimera that has full TVR service history, I live in North Nottinghamshire where is the nearest TVR specialist service centre that you would recommend To keep the full TVR service history up?

Well I'm north Notts and I use Autotune in Hinkley, not exactly close but Merv knows his stuff and it's a nice drive down there.
The guys over at the old TMS site in Melton get a good review but I've not used them.
I always hear good things about TVR Power in Coventry.
And I think there's somewhere in Nottingham itself that gets good reviews but I can't for the life of me remember what it's called or where it is, so a great help I am.

Best advice I can think of is pop along to the East Mids TVRCC regional get together on Sunday and ask a few people there.

If you dont mind a drive you will find nothing but Praise about Automedon in Blackpool (do a search of recent threads on them to see what i mean), I can promise you first hand they are worth the extra effort, and are considerably cheaper than any of those mentioned above.

Automedon's attention to detail is better than Power's IMHO, but i havent personally had any work done at Peter Smith so i cant say (although my car has been there for a service!)

No naming & shaming, but I took my car there and they talked me out of it.

Hello

many thanks for your comments has anyone been too Richard Thorpe at RT Racing in Sheffield? Spoke to him on the phone and he sounds very good.
He said he'd spend a good 1/2 hour or so going over the car with me, get it up on the ramp and he'll look over it and show me what's what.

Many thanks

Paul

Used RT for some suspension setup, great service, and the guy knows TVR's well.

If your free on Sunday afternoon I can't recommend enough popping along to the monthly East Midlands TVRCC meeting.
There's no name and shame policy in the pub and you'll be able to ask any owner about who they use and who they wouldn't touch with a barge pole, and if the weather not bad I'd guess at a turnout of between 20-30 so thats a lot of opinions.
And being a new owner you'll find out about all the other little TVR 'characteristics' you've got to look forward too.

Its a T reg 450, dark blue, gold badges if that means anything?
Thanks for everyones comments, Just sold an MG roadster which I had for 21 years so not frightened of getting my hand dirty! Hopefully not as often as with the MG but who knows?

Depending where abouts in 'North Notts' you are you're welcome to join us for the drive over to the pub, current plan is to leave Linby at 12ish.
