For the past 7 or 8 years I've used S2 followed by S3 as my every day transport, commuting 44 miles round trip each day in sun, rain and believe it or not - snow. Love them to bits, and very little trouble - as long as you change radiator, Clutch master cylinder and Steering column bush every 18 months. But lets face it, S's aren't getting any younger, and I'm faced with the decision of where next. Until yesterday I though an Elise Series 2, but then I had a test drive! Fine for a quick thrash, but short gearing and harsh engine which screamed for a gear change by 4000 rpm would make every day use a pain. (The drive home afterwards in the S3 was a delight by comparison) A TVR dealer who will remain anonymous suggested I also forget the Tamora as it is yet another new model, and 2 years after its introduction the Tuscan still has major problems, with many engines not making it beyond 500 miles. Interesting view from a dealer! The Chimp in my view has aged badly (controvertial or what?) Whereas the S has classic lines and still attracts admiration wherever I go, the Chimp looks portly with its life belt round its waist and is starting to look dated. It is also 'er, a bit common! If there was such a thing as a new 4 or 4.5 Griff, my decision would be made. But how sensible, and costly, and troublesome, would a 5 litre be at 200 miles per week or 12k per year? Comments please? (Oh and, if this isn't sacrildge, anyone have experience of Marcos for every day use?)

..I use my Griffith all year round and cant say that its any more expensive than any other of my other cars to run..except for fuel.. ..if a Griffs too much try a Chimaera which have a softer ride..4ltr models are to be had for bargains at the moment, which ever car it is ,their both maniac!..
