THE REDEYE RETURNS

on the 12th of august some clown poured brake fluid on my car full respray needed

A-plan insurance, nice to deal with no probs no fuss,

7 weeks later they now say they will pay for the full respray cheques in the post

Eddy 4.2 now got the green light to make me happy, 3-4 weeks we will be back on the road

How long was the brake fluid on the paint work?

I know it can damage, but I thought it would take a few days.

Glad everything is getting sorted - hopefully you will be ready for another run out to the Woodman soon

Best protection I have found for brake fluid is Autoglym super resin polish. Had loads of brake fluid thrown over my mint Renault 5 turbo a few years back (OK more than a few - might have been because I upset some young ladies boyfriend ) - not a mark on the paintwork just loads of a waxy deposit as it ate its way through the polish

you cant call your self redeye and drive a slower colour,
the fluid was on the car for no more than 15 hours ,
i too use auto glem products but it still went down to the primer.
very lucky if it had damaged the jel coating then thats very very bad .

Coke or lucazade bued my paint up, she's back now, with no stone chips, and looks just like the day i picked her up from the dealers.
