Due to the following ;

1) I have'nt , as yet, undergone the Pre-frontal lobotomy ,required to actually watch Saturday Night Television.

2) Drink has been taken.

3) Financial famine ,resulting from TVR ownership , precludes being able to go out on a weekend which of means being sat in front a monitor instead of actually having a life.

4) The dearth of new Tiv related threads.

I present the latest in a long line of "My Topics" AKA threads i start ,which have no other real reason to exist - other than having pictures of TVR's in them (preferably mine)
hehe.

Two Factory Tuscan Race Cars , back in the day - when TVR Raced Cars..

The same two cars, last week, still Alive and Kickin - Re-United and Back on Track albeit
without the big budget backing of PW ,but back nonetheless.

Really though, Is'nt it time TVR resurected its factory backed race teams , whether it be a Sagaris Challenge , GT Cars, or a Works Le Mans bid ?( they dont have to win , just being there is enough - remember the passion and publicity that the LNT 400R 's generated).

The expense must be enormous, but TVR (the marque) needs to be seen Racing ,again,Officially , maybe now more than ever scratchchin.

I couldn't agree more.

I am a newbie to the world of TVR's having bought my first (a Chimaera) at the end of 2005. I went to Le Mans this year which was great.....but would have been so much better if TVR were at least involved.

You are so right.

Ive just done my RO's report for Novembers copy of Sprint & was lamenting the fact that at the Tuscan Challenge at Brands Hatch this month we had about 20 Tivs parked up watching - three years ago we had over one hundred cars in a line & a real party atmosphere - happy days

I hope we see them back, but dont hold your breath

yes we've got some video somewhere when we went to watch the racing about 6-7 yrs ago, and the car park was full of TVRS cloud9

still thoroughly enjoyed watching the racing at Brands this time, but yes was disappointed to see the lack of support and so few TVRs in the carpark

If I had the money and time I'd get my licence and a TVR and give it a go myself, think I'll have to wait a few years though, so I'm hoping it will still be going then

Long Live TVR Racing

My greatest moment at a race track was watching the Tuscans at Rockingham. 40,000 people there (SEAT marketing) watching Lee Caroline and Phil Keen swapping the lead time after time. Everyone was off their seats as the lead changed yards before the line and the cars passed less than a length apart at 150mph+.

Brings a tear to my eye

I went to most of the races from 1999 through to 2004. It was a big part of my life. Used to be so great. Met loads of TVR owners and fans and got to know a lot of people. Was a great scene.

Thinking about it - it was largely during that period *we* attended a lot of TVR racing. The absolute best day's racing was provided by the Powertour - it was such a shame that stopped. GTs, Tuscans and the Michelin Porsche Cup - all on the same bill! Perfect! Even better when the minis were on as well.

How many Tuscans on the grid now?

If you want to see some spirited, Tuscan like racing the most fun race to spectate at these days (IMO) is the Porsche Cup. Cup cars - all identical (like Tuscans), far more power than weight (like Tuscans), driven by nutters (just like Tuscans), in very close racing (like Tuscans). They even make a great noise (like Tuscans). Sadly they're usually on with the BTCC - which is OK - but isn't the same sort of "gentleman racing".

Maybe we should have a big PH push to get a BIG TVR presence at a Tuscan race towards the end of the season. Show some support...
