Mark....Hants....Yes...Good to have a forum you can visit to get help and advice on TVR's that doesn't degenerate in to a S6/TVR moving/not moving/going bust slanging match and cheap car insurance and breakdown cover.

When I was after my car I joined so I could have a look at the classifieds & subsequently bought my car from the Sept 2003 issue (my first one)

The subscription ran out a year later, I have a short attention span...look at the state of the monitor, must get to the bank today, fancy a sandwich, where am I...... & the lack of any thing "I" found interesting meant I didn't carry on with the subscription.

That & the fact that I'm a tad thick & anything with more than a hundred words & no pictures gives me a headache.

I'm in West Sussex, and I eventually joined TVRCC last year, but my m'ship has just expired, and I'm not particularly tempted to re-join.

I have read some copies of Sprint, but mostly have an unopened pile of them sitting at home.

I have regularly looked in the regional club section to see what is happening in W Sussex, and the answer seems to be Sweet FA.

I'm not prepared to run the W Sussex region, so as nothing happens there anyway, I stick with Pistonheads, which has an active Sussex TVR contingent.

As for the TVRCC website and forums, again whenever I have checked over there, there seems to be very little activity.

However, from Sprint there do seem to be lots of regions that are very active, and have lots of good events going on, so probably worth it if you are anywhere but West Sussex

Yep, Devon and Cornwall. Get nothing out of my region (no, I'm not going to start explaining or there will be another row) read Splint for 10 minutes whilst sat on the bog once a month and use my membership to get cheap Le Mans tickets.

Undecided whether to renew or not.

Yes I belong to TVRCC, spend most of the time with hants but also frequent surrey depending on whose doing what. I also go on some PH runs and events.
The club is not expensive (IMO) and sprint is on a par with other club mags for content vs adverts.
I must say so far the benefit i have had is cheaper parts and servicing which has saved me more than the membership cost.
Some regions do seem more active than others for runs etc but i guess thats down to the members.

A region is only made up of its members though surely?

Therefore you can only get out what you are prepared to put in?

I'm a member of the TVRCC in North Yorkshire. Our RO Rich bow recently organised BNG which was excellent, followed by a trackday which was superb. I'm not a great atendee of pub meets but have been on quite a few great drives now courtesy of the club.

Sprint is a bit of a banghead issue for some of us I agree, but all in all the club has to be worth the £40 or whatever it is now. The website is still under utilised but is getting better and is a friendly and troll free place to go if you want info re TVR.

Yep, Surrey (yahoo group) - love my Sprint, consider TVRCC membership as a definite plus from a benefits point of view (discounts etc) but will acknowledge that the activity on the site is pretty nominal.

Not a member, so far I have not seen the need however there appears to be a benefit for track days regarding insurance.

I have seen the official reasons but from a grass roots perspective what are the benefits ?

ridds....West Sussex....No not as yet.

Have thought about joining but apart from sprint I can't see what you get for your money, the website is all password protected and I don't want to spend £50 just to find out what is in there.

Have been on a few PH TVR meets and that seems to be good enough for me at the mo.

Perhaps if I knew what I was geting into I might join up....

I think this link should work even if you are not a member www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/join.asp gives you some idea of some of the potential benefits..

Been a member for 16 years. The magazine has come on a long way and it worth the membership alone in my opinion. It does open access to events that may otherwise are not open to non TVRCC members. I attend our local (WWM meets) and attend many non club events, aminly through PH and word of mouth. As the membership is less than a tank of fuel I think it's well worth it and you get to meet a lot more interesting people. Wasn't too active in te first 10 years or so but have really got involved the last 3 or 4 years - it's up to you have active you want to be.

Agree, but there's a lot of politics going on down here at the moment, of a pain barrier type of thing - go through that and depending what the outcome is, will shape the future of the region. I too am not a great attendee of the pub meet type of thing.

Yes. Hants, mainly so that I can get the p1ss ripped out of me by .Mark....
Really? Good website, like magazine, bit of banter on-line when life gets boring, technical help. I'm not good at getting to meets unfortunately. Technical help is often quicker & more comprehensive over here, but who says I can't use both?

TVRCC member (Bristol area), not an owner... yet.

The forums are quieter than PH, but appear to be knowledgable. Sprint's a good read, for the novice at least. A lot of ads, mostly the same each month, but I suppose it subsidizes the cost.
