Saw the main event on TV.

The TVR's got shown (if only briefly). Nice orange TuscanII carrying old Nige - the driver had the biggest grin I've ever seen

Nice array of cars and good to see a Griffith and a Red Wedge mixing it with the newer stuff.

FAB !

BTW, if anyone knows the owner of this, or any other car in the driver parade, let me know, as i will have a pic of all cars/drivers.

The man with the grin is Don Hastie, who along with his wife Diane put a huge amount of effort into organising what was a fantastic event - despite the best efforts of the weather early on. Fortunately the rain held of until the end of the driver's parade so we didn't get too wet when out on track.

We still haven't worked out how he ended with Mansell's name when they were pulled out of the hat. Reckon it must of been a fix Personally, I say he deserved it given everything he managed to organise.

Ian, I've dropped you a mail via your profile about any pictures you may have of a certain Mr Warwick and I.

Having just got back from the GPM courtesy of my wonderful Sagaris, I got to meet Don after the race and he was a top bloke. TVR owe him big time as it was fantastic PR and the tuscans looked great.

Felt proud to be a TVR owner.

Is that the Sagaris i was grabbing some snaps of as you were about to leave, with little room to get out of the car park?

Little bit peeved that after all the effort from the TVR boys, they used a Porsche for the pace car.

I think the fact that it was a 4 wheel drive Carrera was key considering the weather.. Think it would of been hillarious to have a Sag or Tuscan as the pace car.. Arse end action galore.. (so to speak)

A huge thumbs up to Don for organising the event.. I'm sure it took a huge amount of effort. Considering the weather i think it was a great success..

Cheers,

Nick

I'm not sure. My car was a titanium Sagaris parked in the copse car park. ie I didn't get to parking round with the other tvrs in the paddock, sadly.

Ian (IMM Photography)

Don Hastie here...

I have sent you an e-mail about getting a CD of all the drivers so I can distribute it to all the drivers.

Simon (Yellow Griff)...
Yes Nigel was allocated (sorry fixed ) to me but all others were done at a West Lancs meeting out of two hats by Julie Fryer and Diane Jones.

Fantastic day out if I say so myself with all getting a piece of history to take home and a life times momentos..

Cheers to all who attended.

Don.

Thanks for the mail Don, have replied.

I feel i have to thank you for your efforts in arranging something that i heard several (non TVR) people talk about around the circuit, so was definately praise worthy.

Don,

wasn't having a dig - hence the winking icon.

You made it abundantly clear to all of us drivers that the vote was going to be rigged in advance. For the effort you personally put into this event you deserved it, so no gripes from any of us.
