Unfortunately, need to get a new camshaft for my V8. How much would you expect to pay, or actually have paid (at a main dealer)? thx
I was quoted £1500 drive in drive out at TVR Power, however I have seen people quote £1000 before elsewhere. If you are handy with the spanners I don't think it's THAT hard to do, although would probably mean having the car off the road for a while.

I would budget up to £500 in parts and about the same again in labour, but it could easily be a couple of hundred higher or lower than that.
I recently got mine replaced at SFR. Standard quote was £800+VAT for cam, followers, chain etc + labour. Cost me a bit more because the pads on the rockers were knackered so it was another couple of hundred quid on top for those. Don't take a cheaper quote just to swap the cam and leave everything else though, it's a false economy.
SFR have a habit with creeping prices in my experience. Ergo, I don't use him any more. Having said that I didn't have issues with the quality work under taken.
