What a fantastic weekend! Took the Cerb from Inverness to Noel's team at V8Sports to get serviced.
Beautiful, dry, sunny weather for the drive through the Highlands.
Set off my first car alarm with my "melodic" exhaust.
Left a meddling BMW M5 for dead (even had time to fluff the gearchange from 2nd to 3rd whilst doing so).
Acquired a sportsbike on my tail who was quite happy to
slipstream along, whilst attempting to keep up on the straights.
Had cars slowing down to let me past, then fighting amongst themselves to tail me, windows down.
Several appreciative headlamp flashes from cars/ trucks I had overtaken on full throttle, and lots of general good Karma from fellow road users.
Softens the forthcoming blow of the service bill and makes you remember why you bought the blighter in the first place.
Also bumped into my car's former owner - Julian - who showed me round his 4.5 (currently having suspension mods after its RR conversion). He took photos of his old car whilst I drooled over his new one!
ROLL ON SUMMER!
Oh, and it was my 31st birthday too. Wife says I certainly looked happy!
And still drive like a wuss 5 months into the Cerb experience!!

Ignorance is the best policy - if you think that they are all flashing cos they are numpties then you would go mad - taken that attitude myself now and I am much more relaxed behind the wheel when 'making progress'

I grew up in inverness and whenever i go back up to visit the relatives i always think how much fun the A9 would be in a 'proper' car.
I can just picture you now, streching the cerbs legs, blasting south over drumochter pass and then onto the long dual-carriageway that leads down to Blair-Athol!

I've driven that road Inverness down to Stirling but in a hertz special mondeo or some other euro box. Looks like it was built for TVRs - guess you locals have all the gatso's sussed? Seemed to be quite a few on that road. http://ukgatso1.fxsonet.com/counties/scotland/tayside.htm
I'm from just north of inverness. So... Perth to Inverness: 113 miles. Gatsos: 2, one each way, and we know where the rozzers hang out, too!!! Driving up there is where cars come alive. The REAL tvr road around there is not the A9, however, it's the old road north, now known as the 'tourist route'. Bad in summer, though. If you take the road through Dunkeld, and up the hill behind, it is fantastic, simply superb. If you can do it much over 45 to 50 mph, you are good, or mental. I was so blissed out after o drove it, i have no idea where it goes. Nirvana?
In fact, take any 90 deg road from that bit of A9, or any road north of inverness, and you're gonna be a happy chappy. Be sure and splash some hard earned on our northern economy, too, eh? Thanks.
North Kessock hotel is great for pub lunches, too. No, i don't own it, just spend my cash there.
