Bought my first TVR in 1980, had my present car since 1984. I'm still a kid, though Longest ownership that I know of is my good friend Marq Ruben, in the USA. He bought his TVR new in 1971 and sold it in 1999 to make way for a Ferrari.

I note neither of you have mentioned your age.

As I know that I'm not the oldest TVR owner, I felt no need to make any mention of it

Cheer up Preston. Compared to me you're in the first flush of youth. Wouldn't DARE mention my age here though. Give you a clue: passed my driving test in an MG TA.........

Well, the previous owner of mine must be in with a shout...80 years old when he traded it in against an SLK at the end of July. Would still have been burbling about but for the fact he is a wee bit arthritic and had a problem after parking a bit close to his garage wall...got stuck in the gap, half in/half out and hollered for his wife for 20 mins before being rescued. When first considering the car, salesman spun me the story and offered a phone number for the fella...did ring him and he had me in stitches. Apparently he also lives in a retirement complex with communal areas etc...said he felt a bit guilty coming and going in the car whilst competing with the scooters and stuff. Oh, his verdict on the SLK? "Very nice but boring, young man. Must have been crackers...hope you have as much fun as I did!" Top geezer. V8??...just four TL1000s zip-tied together, innit!?

My Granddad borrows my 500 GRF. He's 82. Does that count? I notice much better fuel consumption when he's had it...
