Thinking of coming back to the fold

Well i knew i wouldn't last long away.
I sold my Chimaera early last year and have regretted it since. I changed to an M3 which is a wonderful car and i know many people consider me lucky to own it, but it hasn't got that 'certain something'......noise/smell/????.....and i find myself bored.
I now have the overwhelming urge to get another TVR. I REALLY want a 500 as i had a 400 before and want to move upwards, either a Chim or a Griff will do. The missus has agreed in principle, but at a limited budget. My previous TVR was absolutely reliable and I'm a little worried that with a cheaper one i'll be buying problems. I've looked in the classifieds and seen a few i like. I'm getting 'that' feeling again. You know, the one that says "time for a new toy".

JUST DO IT !I know, i know.....it's just a matter of timing now.
I have to sell my M3 and it would probably be wise to wait until after summer so the prices come down. (I'm not one of these prissy TVR owners who only goes out in the summer, I will drive it throughout the whole year).
I know I will, it's just a matter of when.
I just know I can't go on living (happily) without a TVR much longer. I've felt like something is missing for the last year and a bit!!
I know it's a bit vain, but I miss the good feeling when you get people pointing or chatting to you about the car. I dont get that with the BMW!!!
All i need to do now is raise the subject with the Mrs properly and get down to the nitty gritty of how much she will let me spend. I reckon about 13-14 will be my limit. Judging by the classifieds I should get a tidy 500 for that.??????

That Chim sure looks a good price, maybe even too low and putting people off. Only worry would be the interior colour combo, may just be a bad pic but that brushed dash with the grey leather bit looks a bit .. er.. odd. Mind you at that sort of money easy enough to spend a bit on it and still be quids in so new walnut hardly out of the question.
If it were me though, bigger engine aside, I think I might be looking for more of a change from what I had before and would want to try the Griff (out of the Rover V8 options). If you do go Chim then don't rule out the 450, that's what I had before and it's a great engine. Of course you are creeping into Cerb territory at £14k, still bit of a minefield at that price though .... but

yep, it's a lancashire car, i see from your profile your are lancashire too, so you've most probably seen it, can you give me any info on it? (a private email if you wish).......I'm hoping to get to see it maybe. It could be just the thing i want. Not too much outlay, so it'll keep MrsP sweet.
