I read a thread here a while ago on replacement heat shielding for the wing adjacent to the manifolds, but dashed if I can find the thread again. Can anyone point me to the post and/or remind me what was recommended? Thanks.

Don't remember the thread, but Demon Tweeks Motorsport catalog is an excellent place to find heat management material.

My mistake! It was in Peter Beech's Workshop Notes. The material is Thermo Shield and is supplied by agriemach.co.uk in West Sussex. Worth a look - they are very helpful, and next day delivery.

Tractorboy, have you you fitted these yet? How difficult did you find it assuming you have the engine still in the car,I want to do mine but it looks a bit tight at the back, any info apreciated.

..I've just restored my chassis so I replaced the heat shields with the body off as it was easier.... ...I had a look if it was possible with the engine in and it looks as if it is ok to do.. except you probably want to remove your exhaust manifolds to give that extra bit of room at the bottom where you have to put the peel-rivets in..my heatshields came pre-made with all the holes pre-cut and the original rivet positions were indicated ..which made the fitment very easy..anyway good luck with yours...

I didnt replace the rear heatshield ,just the side ones. ..they put the rear one on last at the factory and cover the excess material of the side two..then they rivet the corners which you probably wont be able to get to with the engine in..there are also some more rivets behind the heater tubing running behind the engine which were hard to remove even with the engine out!.. ..there were 54 rivets holding the side 2 heatshields on if thats any help..
