Please help me identify these TVR bits? OZ 17" wheels?

Hi – I am having a garage clearout and am getting rid of a pile of TVR bits that a friend left when he emigrated. I think that they are Tuscan bits - but I think I'd get some more interest on eBay if I could definitely identify them. Any advice would be much appreciated! (And bids, come to that!) The wheels are the puzzling me the most, they are OZ split rims that say 16*9J but the diameter is actually 17". Would these have been used on the Tuscan Racers? Any advice would be much appreciated!

The wheels are certainly NOT Griffith as you have in your advert so change that. The Griff only has 4 stud fixings. They appear to hve been used on the 350SE Wedge and the 420SE Wedge. e.g. Rich...

Thanks for the advice, I've added a further bit to the ad to (hopefully) clarify. Any further advice would be much appreciated! Did the 350 / 400 / 420 etc's have 17" wheels though? What about the early Tuscans?

You need to post the pcd first. 112mm the the wedges, 114.3 (4.5" for the Tuscans; then we'll check offsets.

I measure the PCD as 112mm (OK, I'm only using a tape measure, not calipers, but I'm sure it's not as big as 114.3mm) Backspace is 146mm. Width 228mm (inside of edge bead to inside of edge bead), so offset (I measure) is 146 - (228/2) = 32mm? Does that sound right?

Not the 350SE mate...they had their own specials.

Yes to 390SE Series 2 and upwards though, but 15 x 8 standard of course.

I can vouch for their toughness too, having just launched one into the greenery at about 90mph. It appears to be unscathed.

I think you'll find it is the way you are measuring the diameter that is confusing. I have 16 x 9 OZ Tuscan Racer Split Rims on my SEAC. The external diameter measures 17", but if you measure the diameter of the inside rim on which the tyre rests you will find it is 16".

No problem. If your maths and measurements are correct then for the 350 et al 23 is standard offset so a 6mm spacer would make your wheels 26mm ET which should be fine. I think that you're in business!

I've just checked what's stamped on my wheels and it is also Type 50 906 TV1 9Jx16 H2-E20, so it looks like your wheels are TVR OZ Tuscan Racer wheels 9" x 16"

Thanks for all the help with the wheels everyone, especially redwedge5 for checking the codes on your wheels! I just wish it were a full Tuscar Racer or SEAC in the garage and not just a few bits, but then there'd be no need for the eBay auction...
