Jag V8 for TVR?

Today's Autocar reports that N.S. spotted at Ford Bridgend engine plant having a look around.
Sorry if it's another TVR rumour but if Autocar report it - it must be true

Well the Jag V8 has been out donkeys now and i'm sure you could buy it cheap.

Well it can be made to sound very nice like in the AM V8 Vantage, in typically loud TVR fashion.

Perhaps they could be given the keys to the V12 cupboard as well

Nor fair? A German engine in a TVR... Just the thought of that would have Wheeler prising the keys to the factory from NS's hands!

Jag has specifically tuned it for a VERY smooth power delivery, fuel economy, NVH, etc. Basically to lug heavy saloon cars. In the right installation that engine is capable of way more power.

Although it would surprise me if Jag will sell them.

it does seem a bit down on power i thought, but anyone thought he is maybe just looking at the layout of the workshop/factory for ideas for his new premisis?????

Jag will do anything for money at the moment. Ford are in deep poo and their "posh vehicles" division (Jag, AM & Volvo) even more so.

Jag have already given thier engines to Land Rover(although they are owned by Ford too) so why not Tvr?, there are definatly worse engines out there for them to pick and im sure they wouldnt leave it standard.

I whole-heartedly agree. With a supercharger, it will develop 370bhp, which is a good starting point. GIven the right tuning, who knows what it could give us? It's compact, too.

And ... it's British! What more could we ask for?? (Before people start banging on about Ford being American, this engine was developed by Jaguar, not Ford)
