Removing stick on no. plates?
Discussion
If your careful a hairdryer should lift it off, obviously dont put to much heat in one spot or you'll have a moon surface on your car. You should be able to then remove the glue with some solvent, white spirit or petrol. just polish the area when your done.
I wouldnt use a wallpaper scraper, that is well bodgy and will probably result in half your nose coming off and lots of scratches. Good luck.
By coincidence just this morning I was sat on the kasi (that means bog not a Ford Ka si for the record !!!! similar though) reading the latest offering of sh1te potatoe pealers from Betterware (for some reason it had been left in there probably in lew of bog paper) and happened to notice a specific product designed to remove the horrible sticky goo left behind on painted surfaces after you remove adhesive labels !!!!! might be worth a try. Don't know if they have website but try a search.
A couple of things you may like to consider before removing your stick on number plate. Firstly if it's been on there any length of time the surrounding paintwork may have faded in which case you will end up with a darker oblong on your bonnet. Secondly if you fit a numberplate in the traditional place the cooling efficiency of your radiator will be reduced because its right in the airflow path. There's a thread on this somewhere.
