There is more than one. I was due to pick up my March 2001 Tuscan, the dealer rang me the day before and said they were just doing the final road test and it didn't sound right. This was at lunch time they then took the cover off and had a look that afternoon, voila bad finger followers. The engine was out the next day, over to Blackpool rebuilt and back in the car inside a week. It's a shame about the poor batch of parts that have caused TVR the problems, but the dealers service was excellant and the factory held up their end as well. So thanks everyone. Especialy Hexham Horseless Carriages and Tony, I would recommend the dealership.

Something ( relatively ) good to say about s6 engine and no author name. Two sort of weird things, both at the same time. Dunno why it seems a bits suspect tho. Maybe its me. If it was realy peter wheeler, he could always create some dummy name I suppose. But then again, maybe he cant get that right either ! Edited by RobM on Sunday 9th September 22:04

Dont want to be negative, was this a rebuild or replacement. Would be interesting to see if engine numbers matched the V5. SP

If in doubt, why not ring Henly's and try to confirm the story? I hope they're not putting these finger followers in any of the engines now - especially my Tamora!!

My Cerbera Spd6 went back to the factory in March for new Camshaft/ engine rebuild, when the car returned it sounded tappety within 10 miles, so back again for another rebuild as finger followers were to blame which were replaced during the 1st rebuild... happy to say that car has since done 1700 miles without missing a beat (touch wood as still early days). Mind you I was without the car for nearly 3 months in total. It seems that my car went rather than just the engine so had to wait longer for the transporter to show up (up to 2 weeks). I imagine that some dealers were inclined to pay extra for a transit van to drop/retrieve the engines to mantain good customer relations.

"My new car needed a new engine, and it only took 7 days". This is a good thing? Well done Blackpool, another [easily] satisfied customer.

Seems to me that TVR Blackpool have had this `bad batch of finger followers `for an awful long time! Our Cerbera sp.6 was a May 1999 model, had the same problem apparently,as well as oil starvation to the top of the engine because the oil ways were too narrow(knackered the camshaft).
