Open Invitation to all TVRCC Members who might be interested - I still have 9 places available for the following event and I need these spaces to be filled by the end of June.

I will be away at LeMans from 14/06 to 20/06 but will send out forms immediately upon my return.


TIV`s n` RIB`s Day Out 2006

Sunday 30th July 2006

A glorious day (weather permitting!) of open top TVR motoring on some of Herefordshire and Powys finest A roads before a breakfast stop at the Welsh Pub of The Year 2005.

This will be followed by a short scenic blast through part of the Brecon Beacons before parking up in the shadow of Welsh Millennium Centre home to The Welsh National Opera and the new Welsh National Assembly Building the area awash with an abundance of contemporary shops, bars, museums and restaurants so there’s plenty to see and do for any passengers who may wish to stay on dry land!



For those brave souls going to sea there will be a short safety briefing where you will be issued with your lifejacket and then we will board the boat for two hours of fast and furious thrashing around on the briny in the Bristol Channel in a 600hp rigid hull inflatable boat with a trip to the Islands of Steepholme and Flatholme where we may spot seals, porpoise together with a wide variety of seabirds there are also a variety of WW2 defensive buildings and gun emplacements that are still present on the Islands.

After disembarking the boat you have the choice of a stroll around the Millennium Park for a drink or a bite to eat at one of the local bars and cafes or simply heading off back home – the choice is up to you. I trust that everyone who does comes along has an enjoyable, and most of all, safe day out.



Event is open to all TVRCC members, with or without a TVR

Maximum number of spaces aboard the boat 12 people – seats will be allocated on first payment basis

Maximum number for breakfast butties will be 25 again on first payment basis



Price

Breakfast Only £8.00 per head

Boat Trip Only £22.00 per head

Breakfast & boat trip £30:00 per head



Total road distance is approx. 240 miles

At sea approx 40 nautical miles

Hi Gandalf
Let me konw if you have a good response for the event. I work at Abersoch sailing school and we have similar R.I.B , for trips out around the islands to see the seals e.t.c. Plus fast cats (sail)and some fantastic roads, a stone throw away from Snodownia. Two of us at the school are TVR drivers and there are more who live in the village. I would be happy to help out if it was something of interest.

Thanks the reply Gandalf is away at Le Mans just now I will forward your response on to him though.

I agree with your comments regarding the roads surrounding Snowdownia, the Warwickshire and West Midlands crew had a 12 car convoy up there a few weeks back superb, if we do it again next year we could pay you folk a visit?

Yeh I new you guys where over, and wanted to catch up with you all, I think it was over a bank holiday weekend (not sure now ) , but myself and the few other TVR owners where all working , shame.
Anyway if you are up this way again shout out and we maybe able to help out with some arrangements and activities.

We have 2 Chim's , Vixen and a S1.5 that live in the village and a lot of other classics . A new classic sportscar club is meant to be evolving as I write this. Possibily called Abersoch classic and sportscar club.

Mon-keh fell head first into a swimming pool at Lemons last year and does not float so we'll have to find a him a suitable flotation device. I have a rubber ring but that's a little off topic

I still need to find another 7 passengers so I`m not out of the woods yet but I do hope I dont have to cancel it would be such a pity as its a great run out.

I am waiting to hear back from the 3Cs guys (who filled the boat last year) and I guess there will be at least 2 from their crowd which leaves only another five seats to fill.
