PH no good... where else for TVR

Hi Chaps. I sadly smashed up my TVR and the ins company have decided to put her out to pasture...
My problem is this.... paid £2,500 from Mole valley TVR for the numberplate S100 TVR and I'd like to get some of that back (listed as half that) but have had no luck at all on PH... does anyone have any sugestions of a place good to sell it?

Ouch...not sure which hurts more. If you're prepared to take a 50% hit judging by the ad, will Mole Valley buy it back?

Can't you just get another TVR with the insurance payout and transfer the plate??

DVLA still have 20 odd TVR plates for sale starting at £699, e.g. V25 TVR.

You could try ebay, or I sold a few V8 plates through Sprint back in 99.

Why would a TVR owner need a registration plate with TVR on it - doesn't it say TVR on the front of the car anyway?

£2500 does sound a bit pricey... I only paid that for "JSG 21". Bought T111VVR for £250 for the Tuscan, too. Private plates are a lot like cars in that you'll pay a premium for buying from a garage, generally speaking.

I'd suggest eBay for a quick sale. And also talk to the likes of NewReg/RegTransfers/etc. - you're unlikely to get a buyer from those places immediately, but you could leave it up for a while until an offer comes in, giving it as much exposure as possible.

I'd expect to get around £600-700 for a quick sale, and something around £1k if you hang out for someone that cares.
