Because, even after a crap day at work, start the beast up, listen to the throbbing V8 monster, and the grin is firmly back in place...

I was called in last year and told I had potentially inherited £2.5bn from a long lost Uncle, however the condition of being able to inherit this money was that I had to blow a cool £50 million in just 24 months leaving nothing left.

Now I have watched Brewsters Millions and learnt from the amateurish attempts in that film - happily I simply bought a TVR and am well on target

Because I like DIFFERENT, RUDE LOOKING, and legally LOUD.

There is simply no other car at the price that can give pedestrians whiplash, and me such a great driving experience.

Its because it makes me smile every time I look at it which is a lot, smile every time I drive it, which is a lot. It gives me a workout in both body and mind when I drive it. It teaches me humility, respect and pity for others.
So it is my life coach, personal trainer and bank manager.
It also gets me to and from work everyday.
What more can you ask.

There are hardly a glut of open top 2 seater sports cars with a 0-60 time of ca. 5 sec, seating for over 6 foot drivers, that are simple to work on, have a v8 engine note, raise a smile every time you turn the key, have a fantastic club of like minded supporters, get claps from the children as you drive past, can fit two sets of golf clubs in the boot, suffer with no body work rust, and all the other things I have not thought of......all for less than £10,000.

The case for the defense rests

Indeed Crap day at work, people pi55ing you off, relationship trouble, money trouble, and a spin in the Cerb washes all of my woes away

Apart from the obvious reasons stated so far, I've spent so much money on it in 12 years of ownership I don't think I could contemplate selling it.

Damned if I know, but then I never really figured out why I bought it in the first place! Seemed like a good idea at the time is about as close to the answer as I came and its probably still the most reasonably accurate for why I still have it

Besides, it confuses the hell out of random ppl when they ask me why I bought it

Reason? Reason?

Doesn't come into it in my opinion. It is an addiction. To adrenaline most likely. Comventional Class A's would probably work out more cost effective

I got mine cause its the only car i can afford that 'sticks its fingers up at the establishment' Its loud, fast and a bit of a handfull at times which is the complete opposite to most cars you can buy.

Also i like it as much because some people Hate it as i do that others love it..

The nice old chap who collects trolleys at our local supermakret summed it up when I pulled up t'other day. He beemed at me and said: 'Ee, what a beautiful car'.

The only downside? Having to pick the flies off your teeth after hooning around top-down with a daft Chim grin on your face.

A practical hatchback with seating for two so no back-seat drivers. Easy to drive. Good residuals after 4-5 years. Reasonable mpg. And oh yes, it goes like STINK!!!!!

More Sex!

- Although you'd be hard pushed to make love in a TVR.
