Been to Le Mans a few times now, but this is the first year in my Chim. Have been a bit worried about breaking down with something stupid like a fuse or a relay that the rescue people would`nt be able to get, or even a belt snapping {over 50 different belts for a V8} So i had thought and gave HHC a bell and they have put together a package of all the things they thought might be helpfull in an emergency. Everything from bulbs and belts to fuses and relays all for the princely sum of £37 a weight off my mind many thanks to the boys at harrigate H.C.

The very nice guys at Hexham HC go one better.... Tony has again put together a full 'touring pack' for this years run to Le Mans including bulb, belts, accellerator cable, and every fuse you could wish for, along with all the fluids you could need, for the pincly sum of nothing!!! zip, nada, diddly squat....
Just return it after your trip and pay for anything that you've used!

For those of us who don't live up North, can anybody print a list of sensible items to take for a Chim/Griff? Making the journey on the back of a trailer doesn't bear thinking about!

I'll kick-off with:
Spare fan belt
Fuse selection (including the infamous 100A jobbie)
Water and coolant
Oil
Spare accelerator cable
Tyreweld
Breakdown card
Steve Heath's Bible
Autoglym Fast Glass and rag (to deal with all the dead bugs on the windscreen/lights)
Tyre pump
Jack and small kit of essential tools (multitool thingy particularly useful)
First aid kit and fire extinguisher
A few plastic sandwich bags (these can be torn up and used to plug any parts of the roof-roof assembly in the event of a leak)
Install mod-wise hot start kit before journey (it gets hot queueing for petrol and would be bloody embarrasing if the car failed to start after fueling!)

Yep, I knew that one was coming
Think it was 115+ but then I never did trust what it was saying anyway.
Was over 100 outside though which wasn't helping.
It was just the final couple of miles when you're literally stuck in traffic getting to the campsites when it went stupid.

From a experience of TVR's not having a buzzer to warn you the lights are still on I'd add a set of jump leads to the above list ...... and more beer!

I'd still take some, it may not be leaving the headlights on that drians the battery!
A set of spare bulbs, some headlamp converters, GB Stickers
/GB Numberplate and a warning triange would also be a good idea (IIRC, these are all legal requirements in France, along with a first aid kit). Oh yes, and a map.
And some beer
