small nick in the seat

I noticed a small cut in the leather of the side bolster in my driver's seat. Looks like it's been caught by a zip. I assume that the only fix is to have the seat properly re-upholstered which is a bit ott unless it gets bigger?
I am a bit surprised that the leather is so easy to damage :-((

I think the newer TVR's must be particularly susceptible to this as loads of the cars I looked at had tears in the side bolsters, yet neither my S or Chim had any damage. The dealer got a small tear fixed for me by a professional leather repairer. An excellent job was done - you'd never know it had been damaged. I was shown some of the other repairs that they'd had done by the same guy. Some of the rips/tears that he'd repaired had been quite large and were virtually invisible afterwards.
If you can find a good repairer it must be cheaper than having the whole seat reupholstered.

Ah, a defender. I thought that this was turning into a Smolenski bashing thread.
Seriously, just have the individual panel replaced, not the whole seat re-upholstered.
I have a similar problem with the drivers seat in my Tamora. In my case this is because TVR silently switched from leather seats as standard to all Ambla. Had I know they would do this during my cars build I would have explicitly specified leather rather than assume it would be as on my previous TVRs (half-hide as standard).
A little glue and lots of buffing and it's not so bad.

This guy is doing a small nick on the door trim of my Griffith tomorrow so I will let you know how good he is.

puffsorted2 - not sure about the handle!
Presume these guys could do the top of doors - as mine came with the hideous fag ash tays that my last one did not have - would like them removed if not too steepa a price (yes I know it does not make my cars fast!). Smoking God it should be Banned..............

Nice bloke, lives opposite me, haven't seen any stuff he's done but he is going to look at a fag burn on mine some time..

Ah yes, I guess my upholstery is not leather. I'm not that bothered as I am not a huge leather fan. However if it's not very strong, or prone to diminutive damage that's less good.

So here's a strange thing...my 16 yr old son is called Nick and is very diminutive in stature! And lo and behold, he will be driving the Tamora - eek. Literally a small Nick in the seat (with a cushion)!
In his case...

lol! leave my handle alone - its not what its seems i.e I cannot sort you out with some puff
He's done a great job on the Griff this morning, I am more than happy with it. It was actually a fag burn on the door trim and seat cushion opposite as the door closes. The fix on the seat is perfect and you would never know anything had happened, the door trim still has the faintest of marks but only because its exactly where the trim tends to get kicked as you get out the car and he wanted to make sure it wouldn't wear so he used a slightly different repair method thats harder wearing - saying that unless I pointed it out you would never see it (he offered me the previous method which would be invisible, but might get damaged if i kicked it, if I perferred it)) He also resprayed the glove box lid free of charge as it had a biro mark on it that wouldn't come out. Price I thought was a reasonable £60 for the lot.
So all in all I am more than happy to recommend his services - I certainly wouldn't hesitate to use him again if needed.
