TVR News - what happened to Hillfoot?
Discussion
Just had a look at my Pistonheads e-news and see that Hillfoot TVR are not TVR anymore. Apart from the fact that it shows my recommendations are not worth much , does anyone know the background to the decision? I certainly found that the people at Hillfoot tried harder than other dealers I visited when trading my Wedge for a Griff.

So this raises 2 questions - can they still use the TVR name, and what led to them losing their new car franchise. I was there only a month or so ago, and was told they had sold a lot of new cars in the preceding months. This does not sound like a reason for having new car dealership removed??

A few years ago there was amazement that a small company like TVR could produce their own engines, and this was held up as a coup for TVR. How could a small company like this pay for the development effort required?
It seems that this amazing feat was perhaps not quite so amazing, and maybe TVR's customers have been paying for the remainder of this development ever since.
Personally I cannot wait for TVR to release the Tamora and Tuscan in the USA, as the value of my Chimaera will rocket once TVR are bankrupt. Which would be nice, after the hammering its value has taken recently.
Just my cynical take on the world!
PS: I'd bet there'll be a market for V8 conversions for Tuscans when the inevitable finally happens!
