New Sagaris/Ford V8

Heard today from somemone in the know that the sagaris was being re-designed to become a lot more smooth overall and it is likely that the new cars are likely to be Ford v8 powered.

Also factory move could be finalised within next three weeks or so.

So basically a T350C with a Ford V8? What about this Melling engine we've heard about? Lets wait and see eh?

So that could be a derivative of the Jaguar V8 engine.

Info came from soneone with many years of employment within TVR. No reason to doubt nything said. Just a shame the sagaris will lose some of it's individuality.

At least they listened. We did ask for the Sag with a V8 and at such short notice combined with the present problems it comes with no surprise that the offerings were Ford or Chevy. Its a start. Lets hope they crank it up some and everyone starts to support the company, factory, workers (artists) and each other. That would make a refreshing change.

Whats wrong with a Ford V8? I think that would be fantastic.

Let's hope they're wise and introduce a low end convertible with an outsourced V8 (like the Jag Ford 4.2) with 280-300 bhp and a lot of torque for around 30.000 - 32.500 pounds. This would get their sales up to volumes like in the days of the Griff/Chim maybe.

I do hope they continue to use their own engines for the high-end cars.

The Jag V8 is a brilliant engine - I've always reckoned it's wasted in my wife's S type, it's smooth, revs willingly has loads of go, uses no oil, makes agreat noise etc....

Its been said many times but it still makes sense...

If it looks like a modernised Griff without too much naffness then i would buy

Let's see now - which other car manufacturer produces an entry-level sports car with a tried and tested throbbing V8 and also use their own 6 cylinder engines in their more expensive models?

Fantastic news, we all want a V8 as speaking for myself i would never touch a TVR S6. Hope they stick it in a Tuscan2 Convertible. Thats a car I would trade my Griff 500 for. Well done TVR.
