Whilst driving the Chim home tonight I noticed a grinding noise when braking. It seemed to be coming from the back brakes and just came on suddenly(seems to be coming from the passenger side). Got home and had a look (just a quick visual check - didn't remove the wheel) and the pads seem to be fine whith no evidence of low pads, metal to metal contact or damage to the discs. Only had her for around six months so don't know when the back brake pads where last changed but they seem to have plenty of pad left. The front ones were only replaced a couple of months back due to the calliper sticking.
Any chance the pads could be worn on the back side where I cant see without removing the wheel? Would have thought they would have worn evenly though. Is there any other reason why I would be getting a dragging noise besides low pads?
I'm going to Chatsworth tomorrow
but if I can't see what the problem is, or sort it out, I don't want to do any damage by driving her down there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On cars with shrouds fitted it's easy to get a stone trapped between the shroud and the disc, but I've never seen shrouds fitted on a TVR. It's much less likely that you will get a stone between the pad and the disc, because the gap is extremely small.
If the sliders have worn or jammed this can lead to very uneven pad wear. You need to make a visual check of the state of the inner pads to see if this is what happened. You may also see witness marks on the disc showing which side of which disc is causing the problem. Remember that if the disc has been damaged you may need new discs as well as pads, and if/when you replace the pads make sure you clean the caliper and clean+check+lubricate the sliders.
