Now that Mobil 1 is no longer 5W/50 as recommended in the handbook, what are you chaps feeding your 5 litre lumps with? I have received conflicting advice from dealers. My Griff 500 has done 43,000 miles - is regular Mobil 1 (0/40) too thin, should I use Mobil 1 Motorsport (15/50), or something completely different. All advice received with thanks in advance.

You'll find oil consumption improves greatly with the 15/50 esp. on the 500's. Otherwise I used to get the handbook stuff from the hypermarket in France - half the price too !

If you live in the South East it's a perfect excuse for one of these cheapo' Eurotunnel evening excursions to Calais!

Texaco fully synthetic is OK - still pricey but not as much as Mob1
