Toyp proxes T1R and T1S - Difference?

Anyone know what the difference in real terms is between the Toyo Proxes T1R and T1S ranges?

Hi Andy. As you know T1-R are replacing the T1-S so check availability. The T1-S has the tread blocks continuous at the edges i.e. without the circumferential groove near to the edge which means that T1-S has been more resiliant in track day use so how will you be driving

Yes,
You can get the T1R's but not the T1S's (T1S's discontinued as replaced by T1R).

These are nice also Dunlop SP SPORT 9000 225/50 R15 ZR (as used by FFG?)

SP9000's (205/55/ZR15) on the front, T1R's on the rear (245/45/16 W rated). Bought the T1R's first and then all the 15" availability disappeared within weeks. Happy with SP9000's so will try them on the back too (soon).

Thanks everyone. If I understand it correctly, the T1S is a good tyre, but probably not available for much longer. As it happens my local tyre dealer has a pair of T1S available (definately S, not R) £90 quid each. fitted etc.
Think I'll give them a rattle for the back end of the 400. The Goodyear F1s on the front are too good to change right now, so it should be interesting to see how well the two types combine

Hi Andy,

i've got T1 Rs on the back of mine. they have a bit of reputation for not giving their best until 'scrubbed in' with a few hundred miles, particularly in the wet.
it's a deserved reputation....

According to my tyre man the T1-S is ongoing; I've had no problem getting hold of them recently.

OK, I have found 2 T1S 's at Selectatyre Matlock Branch - They are holding them for me (225/50/15 )
Please don't nick them! But they may have some more too.

I've got T1S on the back of my 400. I'm pretty impressed with the backend grip in all conditions

Need 205/55, 225/50 are for PAS spec.
