TVR friendly MoT in Herts

Morning all,

Does anyone have experience of a good MoT station around South Hertfordshire? The S needs its first annual check in my ownership and I don't want to take it somewhere where it'll be treated like a 6 year old Mondeo.

The garage Topcats use for MOTs is very friendly If you give them a bell I'm sure they will give you the address and number.

You could try the TVR Centre in Barnet.

Used both, both good.

TVR Centre more expensive but convenient and slick and have kept my Griff in great shape - and you can ogle the Sagaris', Tuscan Convertibles and Nobles

TopCats cheaper, more 'spirit of TVR', in the middle of nowhere, the guys there are top blokes and there's bound to be an exotic racer there (easy Tiger, I said 'exotic' and 'racer')

There is a garage in south mimms where the tester owns a Cerbera , you can`t get much better than that ! His name is Keith and you can get him on 07860 249611

Had mot done on Cerb recently at a garage in Hertford.....if interested email me and i will forward the details.

Doug..... there is Techniques in Stotfold who are good, Tower View at the North Circe...... if only need an MOT take it to nearest garage and just stay with them and the car through out, they will have probs opening the bonnet etc

Had both my Tivs MOT'd in @ Malmac's ,Burrowfields, WGC ..... top class service, talked to me all the way through the test, bits they didn't understand I talked them through.... V happy with them

2nd Malmech & Manion in WGC, Malcolm also sevices an S3 for a local doctor, so is Tiv aware.

I'll put in a mention for my mate Jason at Kimberley Motors in Potters Bar. His garage isn't a MOT test station, but he'll give the S a once over before sending it to the station up the road. I believe he used to do alot of work for the TVR Center in Barnet as well as having worked with a Tuscan Racer team back in the day so he know's his TVR onions. Jason has been looking after my Griff for the past 2 years now.
His garage is also a 30sec walk from the train station which is handy if you work in London.

Plasticman...where is this garage in South Mimms, is it the one attached to the Murco garage?

Cheers all. Its only the MoT (I hope!) that needs doing so I'll probably head for WGC seeing as it the closest.

Had both my Griffs MOT'd there too.

First time round the car failed - guy called me from inside the car on his mobile to say he was failing it because there were no inside door handles and he couldn't get out...

Didn't know that was a failure!! My passenger door doesn't open from the inside and getting the door card on and off to re-attach the cable is a bd of a job.

Guess what I'll be doing on Saturday afternoon!

Try The V8 Centre in High Wycombe. They are very understanding and easy to talk to.

Third for Malmechs. I used to get my Cossie fettled there when I worked in Welwyn. Nice blokes, good service.
