Parts and labour warranty, only £65!!

Just signed up with the AA again today (Dont ask me why I wont sign up with the RAC again 
) I told them I was calling in response to a discount offer Id seen (which I hadnt seen 
) and got a 20% discount

Cover as vehicle or passenger in any car
7 persons/Vehicle delivery anywhere in the UK.
£104. Sorted!
The chap then went on to ask if my car was:
10 years old, or less, and
had less than 100k on the clock.
me: Erm, yes... why?
Well, we can offer you a parts and labour warranty for £65, covering electrical and mechanical breakdown!
Me: Noooooo?
Them: Yes, really
Admitedly the warranty doesnt cover wear and tear, as its a mechanical failure warranty. But for £65, how can you go wrong
£500 claim limit is quite nice I though
£25 excess! Come on chaps, how can you argue with this?
Fingers crossed I wont need it, but it sounds too good to be true. I was offered a similar warranty by a dealer earlier in the year for over a grand. Admitedly it didnt have a £500 max claim limit, but it also didnt cost £65.

Regarding the warranties mentioned above, how good/effective/useable would they be if a prospective Cerbera/Tuscan qanted some peace of mind?
Have considered buying from a specialist, but over inflated prices have made me re-think my options. Namely buying private, and getting a warranty to ease the burden.
Any good for this purpose?

Admitedly I dont read the tvr forms much. I tend to hang out in my own little plastic bubble most of the time
