Has anyone had air con retro fitted to either a chim or a griff, I have a 98r 4.0L chim which I love and just want to keep but would like air con in it as it is used every day and gets a bit stickey in a suit in the height of summer even with the roof down ?

Considering its almost £2k when ordered from new, I would imagine it would be prohibitively expensive to retro-fit.

I agree that it gets stuffy inside especially if your touring on the Continent and it's raining ! I contacted the factory about 18 months ago. They quoted approx £2200 from memory (+VAT I think) for AC retro-fit to a Chimaera. Apparently it's 25 hours work. From another source I was quoted £1000 for the TVR a/c kit. So it looks like the best bet would be an independent TVR specialist who had a/c fitting experience. Alternatively maybe someone knows of non TVR equipment that could be used ? If you find out further info. I'd also like to know as it's something I would consider at a reasonable price.

Interesting. I think a retro-fit in the order of £1,000 is almost justifiable. £2k+ isn't though.
