Unlikely to be TRW. This is the company that built the Hubble telescope, is building the space station, and is the largest supplier of automotive parts in the world, amongst other things. They could swallow Renault wholesale, out of petty cash.

Searching around on the web seems to indicated that the paper is "Le Figaro" not "La Figaro". Pretty basic mistake for an alleged french person to make? Searching www.lefigaro.fr for "Renault" reveals nothing about TVR. Looks like we need to see that scan.

perhaps I'm a trusting fool, but in my experience frenchmen are by and large honourable people. I don't think Xavier is trying to hoax us. I am hoping he has made a mistake. Could it be a case that TVR are off-loading their Rover V8 engineering division(TVR Power)in Coventry, seeing that soon all cars will be ajp powered when griff and chimp production stops. Xavier did mention a 4.0l V8

It may a problem with the French! They would say phonetically 'Tay Vay Air' for TVR and 'Tay dooblervay Air' for TWR. Lose the doobler and you can see how a rumour could conceivably be born! Ooh la la.
