Good driving roads

Can't wait for some better weather to get the car out and about more, but the state of the roads around Berkshire are dire. Even if you get up early to avoid the traffic the potholes and speed bumps combine to make your fillings drop out.

Can anyone suggest any local, or even slightly more afield, good driving roads.

A417 out through West Berkshire. Lots of nice roads West of Newbury and up past Henley or Wycombe into the Chilterns.

Agreed, cut across Westward and over A34 and get on teh back roads, some really nice pubs, villages and some surprisingly traffic free roads.

I get up early with a friend at the weekend to take the bikes out that way.

For a longer trip go into Southern Wales, Police are a nightmare but roads are great!
