Tell me folks, where''s the best value skid pan course? I want to learn to tail slide and control skids, but I don''t know where to start - all advice appreciated...

I agree, Don Palmer is most excellent in UK. But try the Nurburgring wet pan course, which is even better. Plus you can do the 'Ring whilst there as well!

Agreed, dons course is very good. But at 300 quid a pop to learn skid control ( & you cant do it in a day ) it may get a tad expensive. Nothing against don's course, it was an exceptional blast and loads of fun. I'd like to get the hang of it too but i dont have that many 300 quids lying about. If anyone knows, I'd be Grateful too

Don't forget to use someone else's car too or the price of a new full set of tyres will lighten your pocket also!

Try the local police as mentioned above - I've done one of these days - cost about 90 quid (in exeter about 6 years ago). They used a sierra with one of those adjustable shopping trolley rigs around the car so they could lift and / all wheels off the ground. Only a basic course but gets you started, and what I learned on that day has saved me a couple of times!
