Modification friendly insurance co.

Sorry its another insurance thread but please post if you know that your insurance co. is ok with modded TVRs and what sort of loadings they have put on your premium.looking at wheels/brakes /suspension and then power upgrades for the Griff.

I couldn't beleive that my first modded quote was lower than i was previously paying un-modded.I shop around every year and my old insurer were very cheap as was,but T.H.B. Eggar Lawson still beat it.Their only proviso is that you must have limited mileage policy(no problem for me,as i alway did have!).Their number is 01159415255.

Just doing mine with Mannings. £449, protected NCD, 5000 miles, track day cover...£550 excess though.

Tescos - v good quote and "mod friendly", although you pay a proportion of the power increase.

Dunno about power upgrades, but for uprated brakes Manning just needed to be told. No additional premium (and I should hope not)

I use Sunninghill and they've been excellent in dealing with any modifications I've had done. Steve Heath uses them for the 520 I believe and that's got to be about the most non-standard TVR you'll find.

Thats odd as I called tesco 6 months ago and didnt get passed the 'what kind of car is it' question before they refused me cover. We dont do TVRs sir.

Luckily I then called Norwich Union who came up with a VERY competitive price , only loaded by £50 for the uprated brakes and suspension :-)
