Speed 12 Back Racing?

My brother in law was over last night and was saying he had been at Donington Park last week with work and saw an awesome TVR lapping very quickly.
From his description "Big, red, huge rear wing, very loud and with a number plate?!" I can only think of the Cerbera Speed 12? Anyone know anything else fitting this description?
Apparently there was also a film crew with the car as well, anyone know anything about this?

Thats the one which was in evo last year, very cool car. they where having problems with race ecu set up it was "only running at 700hp", hopefully now running at the full 880hp

The car is in development at the moment, to make the most of its qualities.
its being looked after by some TOP guys with the best experience possible.
it was descrbed to me as "Awesome" by someone who's raced every sort of TVR and many other Marques!
it'll hopefully be breaking cover quite alot this year!

Sorry but ,, this car is held up so high and it was never a viable road car , in racing with full time factory back up it never really shone , sorry i dont mean to offend but TVR cant sort out the s6 which i would have thought should be prority 1

I'm sure the Speed 6 is getting attention at TVR and I don't think the Speed 12 (if that's what it was) would be getting any attention from TVR themselves.
I'm sure it's still in private/enthusiasts hands, if not a professional racing team?
I've driven the Speed 12 on various circuits and I can promise you it is an awesome experience. There aren't many cars that continually spin the rear wheels all the way through the complete rev range.
Its a beast and in the right, dedicated hands, would be a mother of racing cars if the right time and money were spent on it.
I've only driven it on the playstation but its still good. :-}

Hi Claire,
The Cerbera Speed 12 as you see it at the site, is the result of how TVR
themselves have developed it over the years.
Nothing you see shown has been done by the new owner in any shape or form...
as I am sure you father would confirm.

Interesting: just coming up to the 12K service with my Sagaris - not one issue with the engine - driven every day bar 6k service time since last August - ice, snow, etc etc. Given the current experience of Tuscan 2 and Sagaris owners I think that the S6 being sorted may have changed.
S'pose what really pi$$es me off is that BMW, Mercedes and Porsche etc just don't publicise their problems: if they did the balance would be redressed irrevocably.
Back to the thread - the Speed 12 that appeared at the CREAM event was stunning: presume this is the same one?

Errum, not wanting to open a big can of worms but I agree with Marki. The speed six is far from sorted or there wouldn't have been a boat load of them undergoing open heart surgery at the dealers I visited recently.
And if you are going to use one car as an example of a marque, can I tell you that my wifes 328i touring BMW (which she's had for four years), started to use oil at 97,000 miles a year ago. We took it to a dealer and the engine was replaced FREE OF CHARGE, no warranty cover and didn't even buy the car from them. I think that shows how companies should own up to their shortcomings, and puts TVR well in the shade with their record on the speed six IMHO.
I wish you all the best with the saggy engine, but to deride other marques is really like thrown stones in your own private TVR glasshouse.

I thought is was only the white and black "Speed 12's" as opposed to the Cerbera Speed 12's that raced, or was the white car the black car, which was the purple show car, no I saw that hidden away in the factory in '97...which is the one that went to Japan, was it Japan and did it ever go?

Whilst I believe Graham to be right, the Speed12 that I saw way back in 2000 on a test day at Donnington was far far more stylish and elegant, and all IMHO of course, a much more hansome beast. See what you think:
Not sure about the mix-n-match wheels though.
