Anyone bought a folding garage?

Hi guys, am one week into TVR ownership, and need to find something better to protect my Chim 450 than the light weight cover i have. I have seen some adverts for folding garages, a bit like pram hoods. Anyone used one? Do they work?

I've used the Car-O-Port for a year (under shelter) from these guys...

They do a number of other products worth a look.

The best temporaty (but longer term) solution I've seen used is from similar to this company:-

The Bray Fold-A-Hut 01279 757323 (Sorry no web url but they do advertise in Classic & Sports Car)

It's like a Garage tent thingy, very sturdy and can be used without any shelter at all.

Thanks for such quick response - should have mentioned, my car is kept outside on the drive , wifey wants to keep her Beemer in the garage! So i need something to keep the weather and bird poo off. I'll give The Bray Fold-A-Hut folks a call tomorrow - thanks again

David - not sure what cover you have, but the Covercraft Weathershield (app £300) comes well rated here and I have used personally for 9 mths without problems (aside from cats which tend to like sitting on it!). Withstands a lot, protects from all weathers/bird crap, and generally doing exactly what it says on the tin.

I looked into folding garages. One end needs to be secured to the ground so will block a single dive.

Gus, guys, Kieran, maggit, rpa,... I know, I know, i know. Beemer in the warm, Chim on the drive... but that was the deal with Mrs Crow. "If you want your toy car go ahead, but don't expect me to give up my garage space". I'd rather have the cold Chim than no Chim at all. I do have space on the drive for a fixed-end type, so if anyone can get over the sacrilidge that i have committed, and can reccommend a folding garage i'd be really grateful.

I Bought a temp garage/marquee from these people www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk very good quality and rugged construction and in the summer move it in the garden and hey presto !! Marquee for all to enjoy.

Bought a very sturdy car port off ebay which I think is available from Costco, good value, very sturdy and big, very impressed.


More substantial that the marquee type covers which I looked into but is 20' by 10' and very high so a lot of space is required.

Thanks to you all for your feedback, i really appreciate it. i need it to fold when not in use, as it will be across the front of the house. i have found www.canvas-nylon.co.uk locally, who have the folding type, and the chap says they would consider making one "to fit". i'll pop over next week and see. i'll post back here for anyone that's interested. cheers
