My knowledge of the 'older' TVRs is not hot - shame on me - but I generally get 27/28 from my 4.0 Chimaera. 30mpg should be achievable from a smaller engine? But then for some reason I always get good economy from cars, ah, except the wifes old Maestro (first ever talking one off the line as displayed to, and thrashed by, the Journo's at the motor show)in the mid 1990's when we travelled to the Dordogne at something like 16mpg Maestro I ask you!?!?! Opps sorry Ted.

Dont know about that. I just went up to Chesterfield in my 4l chim and returned. Just over a tank of petrol was used and 360 on the clock. Seems that on the motorway doing a little over the limit iy is pretty good for feul consumption.
