Another dealer shut

HL Gorners has gone into recievership. I heard it was due to poor management. Mainly the merc/sub brand and not the tvr section which was run really well by Mr Mike Clark.

Just to put the record straight from my understanding of the situation HL Gorner have gone into voluntary administration not receivership. Currently both TVR servicing and sales are working as normal. I know that all concerned with the TVR side of the garage are doing their utmost to make sure the current situation is resolved favourably and does not adversely effect their current customers.

I should have added in my last post that I am in no way commericaly linked with HL Gorner but am a regular customer that has always had excellent service and advice from Mike (sales) and Mark (servicing)

I have spoke with Mike at Gorners and, no they are not shut. Without going into much detail, at the moment, it is business as usual but with some administrative changes. They are still selling cars and servicing, so come on guys lets still give these peolpe our continued support which may, in some way, help to solve, maybe, some of their current problems.

I my opinion this is a good dealership and they deserve our help not hinderance.

Thanks Phil and Dave for giving a rather more accurate version of events than the title would suggest! I think you've both summarised things fairly well.

Just to reassure TVR customers:
* The dealership is still open!
* The showroom is well stocked with new and used TVRs!
* TVR Parts, Servicing and Body Repairs continues as normal!

My own Chimaera's going in for a service next week and I'm sure we'll have more news over the forthcoming weeks!

My T350's in at HLG for 12k service, Nitrons & other goodies in a few weeks, even though it's not my nearest dealer. Been impressed with their team's thorough approach & expertise on TVRs for last 2yrs (& I have used other dealers). I'm sure they can pick themselves up as others have done before.

Apologies for the confusion, i would ask Ted to please close the thread which i opened and remove it if possible. I was poorly informed from 2 sources and presumed that the whole dealership had gone. Once again sorry for any hassle and all the best to Mike and his team who are probably calling me all the bastards under the son . Tuscanraider you weren't necessarily wrong - HLG is listed as just the one Limited Co. - but plenty of companies pull out of this situation. The following guidance is from Companies House website;

In a members voluntary liquidation, the directors swear a statement, known as a declaration of solvency, to say the company will be able to pay all its debts within a period not exceeding twelve months. The company would not be 'insolvent'. Only liquidations result in the company being automatically dissolved. It is possible, following the conclusion of a receivership, administration or corporate voluntary arrangement, for a company to remain on the live register and continue trading.
