I've just moved to the M3 M4 area, west of london, and i'm searching for a new Chim, trade. The contenders for my business are Adrian Blythe, and Fernhurst TVR. The cars appear to be of equal quality versus price in both dealers. My question is, do any of you swell folks have experiences of either in a positive or negative way - ie after sales, servicing, etc.

I'm all a-quiver that i'm gonna get another Tiv within a week to ten days... Wheeeee!!

I visited both when I looking for my Tiv. Blyth prepares his cars for sale VERY nicely, but does not (IIRC) have in-house servicing. They use the highly reputable David Batty. Fernies had a bigger stock, and seemed very concerned with customer service, and clearly wanted to maintain a reputation.

Fernies could not have been more accomodating, both before and after my purchase.

End of the day, they had the right car at the right time to suit my needs, which is why I went with them. I have not regretted it.

Dunno exactly where you are in Hants, but I live in East Dorset right on the Hants border. It's 70 miles east to Racing Green at Ash Vale near Camberley, and they seem very sorted.

Well, I bl@@dy hope so as I am buying my first ever TVR from them and will be getting my servicing done there too.

I used Fernhurst for many years (but not lately) and always found them to be excellent.

Worry not Lee. RG will sort you out well - Martin Slade is the man in charge of the servicing/mechanics, John Heywood up front in sales. Excellent chaps all...and I speak from considerable servicing experience per the past 8 mths

Fernie's top class...

bought mine there from Drew, who remembers your name and is 1st class and has time even once you have bought

serviced and repaired there by Workshop Manager - Bryan who is top lad and really looks after you well..

quality is top notch and defintely more reasonable than Racing Green

I also live M3/M4 corridor so hope to see you around and if you buy prior to Feb5th should come to Virginia Water meet to say hi

Is Simon still there? Fernies get my vote.

I was always impressed the way Simon and Bryan always remembered my name and details of my car (well, they did sell it to me and service it for 5 years!). Even when I popped in last year on the off chance for a cuppa and hadnt been near the place for 18 months they still remembered me

Never found them to be anything less than 1st Class

Agree entirely, Fernies top class outfit. On my second TVR now purchased from Fernies they really are a professional and great bunch of guy's. OH

Best route is M3 south, then the A272 to Midhurst, quick detour to Farnhurst up the A286, then back on the A272 towards Petworth and beyond. Then turn round and do it all again to come home

If they don't have what you are looking for, it's only a short drag up the M40 for you to see Doug at David Gerald (Inkberrow, Worcs - really close to the motorway)
I spent a great deal of time talking to him - very helpful.

i thought that APM did most of the prep etc work for Adrian Blythe these days.
it is a good time to buy private. Get APM to inspect and save yourself 3k for suspension and running costs.

Went to look at a chimaera at A Blyths and the one I had booked an appointment to see he sold before I got there, which was fine but he did not give me a call to let me know.

Adrian I found to be a bit up his own arse to be honest, a very poor attitude.

But to be fair the cars he sells are at a high standard.
