New car mileage?

Hi.
Does anyone know when you buy a new car there is allways some mileage on it,sometimes just a few but sometimes a couple of hundred, how is this done? Is it just the moving around compounds or do they actually do some test miles to make sure everything is allright?
I am asking as I am getting a new Sagaris soon and it has 25 miles on the clock.
Just a bit concerned as to how these miles have been done as I dought anyone moving the car around will worry about warm up procedure, especially as the first couple of hundred miles is going to be the most important to be done gently.

Any ideas?

You lucky bugger, as I under stand TVR test run & setup all cars on their rolling road
before dispatch to dealers, this would notch up 25 miles.

I am fairly certain our Tamora had 25 miles on it as well. Don't forget that the dealer will also test drive it post pdi.

Thanks guy's, that explains it then. I was just a bit worried if someone was thrashing them around with little regard to the engine.
Can't wait to pick it up, time seems to dragging badly.
The colour looks fantastic in the showroom and will look awesome when we get some sun. ( Cascade Indigo ).

When i went to the factory they said that every car was run on the road to see if it was ok and so some would only need a short run to tell them and some may need more than one run, so more miles. They said mine must have been a good one as it only had 7 miles on the clock. The car then had to go back 3 times for engine rebuilds (so that can go out of the window then).
Sometimes PW took one home to give it a run.
I don't think they would thrash them or alot would have to be rebuilt, come to think of it there were alot there when i went a few years ago.
